Haryana Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna

Introduction

• While presenting budget of 2023-2024, finance minister has announced to start 'Haryana Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna'.
• The main object behind launching this scheme to provide financial assistance in case of death (Natural or accidental) or permanent disability.
• This scheme is implemented by Haryana Parivar Suraksha Nyas.
• In harayana this scheme is also known by some other name like, "DDUAPSY", "Haryana DAYALU Scheme" or "DAYALU Yojana".
• Under the Haryana Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna following benefits will be given to the eligible beneficiaries:-
  • Above 6 years and up to 12 years of age: Rs. 1 lakh.
  • Above 12 years and up to 18 years of age: Rs. 2 lakh.
  • Above 18 years and up to 25 years of age: Rs. 3 lakh.
  • Above 25 years and up to 45 years of age: Rs.5 lakh.
  • Above 45 years and up to 60 years of age: Rs. 3 lakh.
• The scheme is divided into following two types:-
  • The first scheme is "Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna," which provides assistance to individuals who suffer death or permanent disability due to accidents or natural causes.
  • The second scheme is "Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna-2," which provides benefits to those whose death or permanent disability occurs due to incidents involving stray cattle, animals, or dog bites.
• Under Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna, the benefits will also include an amount of 2 lakh rupees provided under the Prime Minister's Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Prime Minister's Suraksha Bima Yojana.
• In cases of death, the amount will be transferred to the bank account linked to the Aadhaar number of the head of the family or to a bank account registered in the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) database.
• For permanent disabilities, the assistance amount will be provided to the bank account registered in the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) database of the beneficiary or to the bank account linked to the Aadhaar number of the head of the family.
• In cases of the death/permanent disability of the head of the family, the assistance amount will be provided to the eldest member of the family under 60 years of age as per the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) database.

Benefits of the Scheme

• Under the Haryana Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna beneficiaries will get following benefits according to their age eligibility:-

  above 25 years and upto 45 years	Rs. 5 lakh

Assistance Criteria for PMJJBY and PMSBY Beneficiaries

• If the beneficiary is already registered under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), then the assistance provided under the Haryana Deendayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Parivaar Suraksha Yojna will be calculated as follows:-

Eligibility Criteria

• Those who fulfill all the conditions mentioned below are eligible to apply for the Haryana Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana:-
  • Should be a resident of Haryana.
  • Annual Family income of the beneficiary should not exceed Rs. 1.80 Lakh.
  • The Age limit to apply for this scheme is from above 6 years up to 60 years old.
  • Family ID/Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) number is required to apply for this scheme.
  • Beneficiaries will receive benefits under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana (DAYALU) only in the event of natural or accidental death, or permanent disability caused by an accident.
  • Under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana-2 (DAYALU-2) only those will receive benefits whose death or permanent disability occur due to stray cattle/animal/dog bite.

Documents Required

• The following documents are required at the time of apply for Haryana Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana:-
  • Family identity card.
  • Income certificate.
  • Address proof.
  • Aadhar card.
  • Death certificate.
  • In case of permanent disability following additional documents are required:-
    • Permanent Disability Certificate.
    • Copy of FIR/DDR.
    • Hospital Discharge Summary (Only if Hospitalised)
  • When applying for the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana-2, it is mandatory to upload a copy of the FIR/DDR indicating death or permanent disability happens due to stray cattle/animal/dog bite.

How to Apply

• To avail the benefit of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana, applicants must apply for the scheme within three months of the accidental death, natural death, or permanent disability.
• Beneficiaries can apply for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana through their online portal.
• Open the online portal and navigate to the 'Apply Scheme' section on the homepage.
• Select the desired scheme from the options provided:-

  • Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodyay Parivar Suraksha Yojana-2 (Impact With Stray cattle/animal)
• After selecting the scheme type, enter the Family ID/Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) number.
• Fill in all the required details accurately.
• Upload all the necessary documents.
• Submit the application form.
• After verifying all applications, the Haryana Parivar Suraksha Nyas will transfer the assistance amount to the eligible beneficiaries.
