Introduction

• Delhi government is focusing more on education of student as it believes that education only can make their life better.
• In its effort for betterment of socio-economically weaker section of society, Delhi Government started a new scheme called Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana.
• Jai Bhim Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vikas Yojana is for SC/ST/OBC and EWS category students who lack coaching and guidance to avail better education and job.
• Scheme is implemented by Department for the welfare of SC/ST/OBC and Minorities, Government of NCT of Delhi.
• Under the scheme bright SC/ST/OBC and EWS students will be given free coaching for
  • Entrance exam to obtain seat in Higher Education Institutions for further studies.
  • Entrance exam for various jobs.
• Scheme is an effort by Delhi Government to enable the poor capable bright students to achieve their dream of good education and good job by providing coaching facility.
• Last year 13000 students took coaching. Among which 4000 student appeared for Engineering and Medical exam out of which 1303 student got selected in reputed organisations. This proves the calibre of the marginalised students.
• 15,000 students will be provided free coaching under the scheme. Government listed 46 coaching institutes in Delhi for various exams.
• A group of institutes are listed out for coaching facility, which are experienced and have produced good results. A student can apply in listed or non-listed institutes according to his/her choice.
• The student should be resident of Delhi with 10th and 12th passed (studying) from Delhi school, with family income up to Rs. 8 lakh.
• Entrance exam after graduation level need students to be qualified for minimum eligibility set for entrance exam.
• Student will be selected by coaching institute based on criteria/ eligibility test prescribed by institution.  On absence of any criteria by institution the student shall be selected based on merit.
• Minimum 75% seats in coaching institutes shall be for students from Government Schools and can be even more and remaining 25% is for Private School students.
• Eligible students can take online coaching from empanelled coaching centres.
• A student can avail the benefit of scheme twice, however only 50% of fee will be provided by government for 2nd time coaching.
• Student shall attend the classes regularly. In case student is absent for more than 15 days, without any genuine reason, benefits will be discontinued and another student shall be considered for coaching.
• Students can apply directly in enlisted institutes as seats are allotted for SC/ST/OBC and EWS students.
• Student need to apply through department in case of non-listed institutes. Department shall inform student about their selection.
• The submission of application form should be done within 30 days from the date of publication of advertisement in newspapers.

Benefits of Scheme

• Stipend of Rs. 2,500/- per month will be paid to selected students.

Eligibility criteria for scheme

• Student should be resident of Delhi.
• Student should belong to below mentioned category :-
  • Schedule Caste.
  • Schedule Tribe.
  • Other Backward Class.
  • Economically Weaker Sections.
• Educational Qualification of a Student should be :-
  • Passes 10th and 12th from Delhi based school.
  • OR
  • Student can be in 12th class in Delhi school.
  • OR
  • Fulfil the eligibility criteria for the specific graduate level exam.
• Annual Family Income of student should be up to Rs. 8 Lakh per annum.
