Himachal Pradesh Disability Pension Scheme

Introduction

• There are many disabled people in Himachal Pradesh who are not able to earn on their own for their livelihood.
• So with an objective to stablize their income and to provide them financial security, Himachal Pradesh Government started Disability Pension Scheme in the state.
• Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of Government of Himachal Pradesh is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Disability Pension Scheme of Himachal Pradesh is also known by some other names in the state such as :- "Himachal Pradesh Divyang Rahat Bhatta Yojana" or "Himachal Pradesh Handicapped Pension Scheme" or "Himachal Pradesh Disability Relief Allowance Scheme".
• Monthly Pension will be provided by Himachal Pradesh Government to all eligible Disable People under Disability Pension Scheme.
• The amount of pension provided will varies according to the gender and the disability percentage of the beneficiary.
• Male Disable Beneficiary having more than 40% but Less than 69% of Disability will get monthly pension of Rs. 1,150/-.
• Whereas, Female Disable Beneficiary having more than 40% but Less than 69% of Disability will get per month pension of Rs. 1,500/- per month.
• Those Beneficiaries whose Disability Percentage is more than 70% will get Rs. 1,700/- per month under Himachal Pradesh Disability Pension Scheme irrespective of their gender.
• Mentally Underdeveloped Person are also eligible to get monthly disability pension under this scheme.
• Person having Disability of less than 40% are not eligible to get pension under Disability Pension Scheme of Himachal Pradesh Government.
• There is no minimum or maximum income limit or age limit is required in order to avail the benefit of per month pension under Himachal Disability Pension Scheme.
• Right Now, there is No Online Application Apply Procedure is available for Himachal Pradesh Disability Pension Scheme.
• Beneficiary can apply for Disability pension through Offline Application Form which is available at any District Social Welfare Department Office.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following financial assistance as a per month pension will be provided to all eligible Disabled/ Handicapped People of Himachal Pradesh under Disability Pension Scheme :-

  Gender	Disability Percentage	Amount of Pension
  Male	40% to 69%	Rs. 1,150/- per Month
  Female	40% to 69%	Rs. 1,500/- per Month
  Male Female	70% or More	Rs. 1,700/- per Month

Eligibility

• Disable Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Himachal Pradesh.
• Beneficiary Disability Percentage should be 40% or More.
• Mentally Underdeveloped Person is also Eligible for Pension.

How to Apply

• Disable Beneficiaries can apply for per month pension under Himachal Pradesh Disability Pension Scheme through Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Himachal Pradesh Disability Pension Scheme is available free of cost at any of the below mentioned offices :-
  • District Tehsil Office.
  • Panchayat Office.
  • District Social Welfare Department Office.
• Take the Application Form from any of the above mentioned office and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the essential documents with the Application Form.
• Submit the Disability Pension Scheme Application Form of Himachal Pradesh in the same office from where it was collected.
• Application Form and all the documents will be scrutinised by the District Social Welfare Officer.
• Beneficiary will be informed through SMS or Email if selected.
