West Bengal Jai Bangla Scheme

Introduction

• West Bengal started pension scheme for every needy person in the state.
• Before 2020, all the pension scheme was running with different names.
• But in the year 2020, Government of West Bengal started one umbrella scheme for all categories of pension.
• Jai Bangla Scheme is that umbrella scheme for all the pension schemes of West Bengal.
• This Scheme is also called "West Bengal Jai Bangla Pension Scheme" or "West Bengal Joy Bangla Scheme".
• Department of Finance of West Bengal Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• The main objective behind launching Jai Bangla Scheme is to ease the process of delivering the benefits of pension to eligible people of State in a time bound manner.
• Currently there are 9 sub schemes under West Bengal Jai Bangla Scheme which are as follows :-
  • Old Age Pension Scheme.
  • Widow Pension Scheme.
  • Taposili Bandhu Scheme.
  • Jai Johar Scheme.
  • Manabik Pension Scheme.
  • Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme.
  • Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme.
  • Artisan and Weaver Old Age Pension Scheme.
  • Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme.
• Every scheme has its own eligibility condition which is needed to be fulfilled to avail the benefit of monthly pension.
• But the pension amount is same in each scheme i.e Rs. 1,000/- per Month.
• West Best Disability Pension Scheme is now merged by the West Bengal Government with Manabik Pension Scheme.
• Eligible Beneficiary can visit the specific page of sub pension schemes for better understanding.
• Beneficiary can apply for monthly pension according to their category under Jai Bangla Scheme through by filling an Offline Application Form of Jai Bangla Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The below mentioned financial assistance as a monthly pension will be provided to eligible beneficiaries according to thier respective category under West Bengal Jai Bangla Scheme :-

  Manabik Pension Scheme	Rs. 1,000/- per Month.
  Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme	Rs. 1,000/- per Month.
  Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme	Rs. 1,000/- per Month.
  Artisan and Weaver Old Age Pension Scheme	Rs. 1,000/- per Month.
  Lok Prasar Prakalpa Scheme	Rs. 1,000/- per Month.

Eligibility Criteria

• The following eligibility conditions is required to avail the benefit of financial assistance as a monthly pension under Jai Bangla Scheme of West Bengal Government :-

  Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal OR, Applicant should be a Resident of West Bengal for Minimum 10 Years. Applicant should be belong to any of the below mentioned category :- Old Age Farmer. Disabled Person. Widow. Old Age Fishermen. Old Age Artisan or Weaver. Old Age SC or ST. Folk Artist.

Documents Required

• The below mentioned documents is needed at the time of applying for per month pension under West Bengal Jai Bangla Scheme :-
  • Domicile or Residence Proof of West Bengal.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Ration Card.
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Voter Identity Card. (For Age Proof)
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Death Certificate and Identity Proof of Deceased Husband. (For Widow)
  • No Marriage Certificate. (For Widow)
  • Disability Certificate. (For Disabled)
  • Caste Certificate. (For SC and ST)
  • Land Documents. (For Farmer)
  • Registration Details. (For Fishermen and Artisan and Weavers)

How to Apply

• Pension Beneficiary can apply for monthly pension according to their category by filling Jai Bangla Scheme Application Form.
• Application Form of West Bengal Jai Bangla Scheme is available free of cost at any of the below mentioned offices :-
  • Block Development Officer Office.
  • Kolkata Municipal Corporation Office.
  • Sub Divisional Officer Office.
• Collect the Application Form, Mark the Appropriate Pension Category and attach all the required documents with it.
• Submit the Application Form of Jai Bangla Scheme in the same office form where it was collected.
• Concerned Officials will scrutinised the received application forms.
• After verification, pension amount will be transferred directly in the given bank account of beneficiary.
