West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme

Introduction

• West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme is the flagship scheme of West Bengal Government.
• Farmers don't have any income source at their age of retirement nor they are able to do field work after certain age.
• So the main objective behind launching Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme is to provide financial security to old age farmers and secure their monthly income.
• Government of West Bengal will provide monthly pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month to all eligible farmers of West Bengal.
• West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme is a sub scheme under Jai Bangla Scheme which is an umbrella scheme for all pension schemes of West Bengal.
• Farmers whose age is 60 Years or more are eligible get pension under this scheme.
• But there is an exception for Age for those farmers who are disabled.
• Minimum Age required to get pension is 55 Years or more for Disabled Farmers.
• Old Age Farmer should have less than 2 Acre of Land.
• Farmer having more than 2 Acre of Land are not eligible to get monthly pension under West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme.
• All Eligible Beneficiaries can avail the benefit of monthly old age pension by filling an Application Form of West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following benefits will be provided to eligible old aged farmer beneficiaries under West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  • Monthly Pension Rs. 1,000/- will be provided to all Eligible Old Aged Farmers.

Eligibility Criteria

• The below mentioned eligibility is needed to be fulfilled to avail the benefit of monthly pension under Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme :-

  Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal OR, Applicant should be a Resident of West Bengal for 10 Years. Applicant should be a Farmer. Beneficiary Farmer should own less than 2 Acres of Land. The Age of Farmer should be :- 60 Years or More for General Category Farmer. 55 Years or More for Disabled Farmer. Farmer should not be a beneficiary of any other Pension Scheme.

Documents Required

• The following documents is required to avail the benefit of monthly pension under West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  • Residence Proof/ Domicile of West Bengal.
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Voter Identity Card. (For Age Proof)
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Ration Card.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Income Certificate.
  • Agriculture Land Details.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• Eligible Farmers can apply for monthly pension by filling Application Form of Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme.
• Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme Application Form is available free of cost at the below mentioned offices :-
  • Block Development Officer Office.
  • Sub Divisional Officer Office.
  • Kolkata Municipal Commissioner Office.
• Take the Application Form of Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the documents with the Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form of Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme along with all the documents in the same office from where it was collected.
• Application Form and Documents will be verified by the officials of Department of Agriculture.
• After verification, pension amount of Rs. 1,000/- per Month under West Bengal Farmer Old Age Pension Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary.
