Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Government of West Bengal started a welfare scheme for Fishermen of State.
• The name of scheme is "West Bengal Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme".
• It is monetary assistance scheme in which West Bengal Government will provide financial assistance to those Fishermen who attained the age of seniority.
• The main objective behind launching Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme is to provide social security to Old Age Fishermen and secure their source of income.
• Department of Fisheries is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Government of West Bengal will provide monthly pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month to all eligible Old Age Fishermen of West Bengal.
• West Bengal Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme is a sub scheme under Jai Bangla Scheme which is an umbrella scheme for all pension schemes of West Bengal.
• All Fishermen who are 60 Years old or more are eligible to get monthly financial assistance as pension under this scheme.
• Registration of Fishermen in Fisheries Department of West Bengal is must to avail the benefit of Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme of West Bengal Government.
• All Eligible Old Aged Fishermen Beneficiaries can avail the benefit of monthly old age pension by filling an Application Form of West Bengal Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• The below mentioned benefits will be provided to Eligible Old Aged Fishermen under West Bengal Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  • Monthly Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month will be Provided to Old Age Fishermen.

Eligibility Requirements

• The following eligibility is required to be fulfilled to avail the benefit of monthly pension under Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme :-

  Applicant should be a Fishermen. Fishermen should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal OR, Fishermen should be a Resident of West Bengal for 10 Years. The Age of Fishermen should be 60 Years or Above. Fishermen should not be a beneficiary of any other Pension Scheme.

• The below mentioned documents is required at the time of applying for monthly pension under West Bengal Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme :-
  • Residence Proof/ Domicile of West Bengal.
  • Voter Identity Card. (For Age Proof)
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Ration Card.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Fishermen Registration Details.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible Old Aged Fishermen can apply for monthly old age pension by filling Application Form of Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme.
• Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme Application Form is available free of cost at any of the below mentioned offices :-
  • Kolkata Municipal Commissioner Office.
  • Sub Divisional Officer Office.
  • Block Development Officer Office.
• Take the Application Form of Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme and fill it carefully.
• Attach all the required documents with the Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form of Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme along with all the documents in the same office from where it was collected.
• Application Form and Documents will be scrutinised by the officials of Department of Fisheries.
• After due verification, Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month under West Bengal Fishermen Old Age Pension Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of fishermen.
