Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Odisha government has invited applications for a girl child scholarship known as "Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme".
• Interested applicants can apply for the scheme online at https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
• However, applicants need to qualify the eligibility criteria specified in the Sudakshya scheme.
• In recent times, the government observed many students, especially girls, discontinue their studies after completing 10th grade.
• Upon investigation, the government found that children's parents are unable to pay the admission and other charges, forcing these girls to drop out.
• Seeking this issue, the government has decided to come up with a "Sudakshya scheme," enabling these students to continue their studies without any financial issue.
• The primary objective of the scheme is to increase the enrollment of girl children in government polytechnic and ITI institutes.
• For this, the government is offering reimbursement of admission and hostel fees to students pursuing ITI/Polytechnic/Diploma courses at Govt. institutes.
• In addition to admission and hostel fee reimbursement, the Sudakshya Scholarship scheme also provides a maintenance allowance.
• Maintenance allowance under the scheme will be provided during and after the completion of program.
• Students enrolled in the government institutes in the 1st semester or lateral will receive a monthly assistance of Rs 1,500 as hostellers and Rs 500 as day scholars.
• After the completion of the program, applicants will receive a maintenance allowance of Rs 1,000/- for apprenticeship training inside and Rs 1,500/- for outside the state.
• Additionally, the Sudakshya Scholarship scheme also offers a one time assistance of Rs 5,000/- to girls who complete a six month employment outside the state.
• Admission fee paid by the applicants as per their category will be reimbursed by the concerned principal.
• Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria of Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme can submit their application online.
• Under the scheme, the government will also conduct a counselling programme for at least 3000 girls who have completed their 10th grade.

Scheme Benefits

• State government aim to provide following benefits under its Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme : -
  • Reimbursement of Admission and Hostel Fee.
  • A monthly maintenance allowance of Rs 1,500/- to hosteller and Rs 500/- for day scholars.
  • Maintenance allowance of Rs 1,000/- for apprenticeship training within and Rs 1,500/- outside the state.
  • A one time maintenance allowance of Rs 5,000/- (upon completion of a six month job outside the state).

Eligibility Requirements

• To receive reimbursement benefits, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria specified in the Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme : -
  • Students must be permanent residents of Odisha.
  • Student must be a girl child.
  • Students must belong to General/ST/SC/OBC/SEBC/ EBC category.
  • Students must pursue any of the given courses ITI/Polytechnic/ITC/Diploma Courses.

• Applicants must keep the following documents ready when submitting application for Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme : -
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Admission Receipt.
  • Bank Passbook.
  • Student Passport Size Photo.
  • Self Declaration Certificate.
  • Student College ID.
  • Last Exam Passed Marksheet.
  • Caste Certificate (If any).
  • Income Certificate.

Steps to Apply

• Applicants can submit the 'Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme' application form online.
• Online Applications for Sudakshya Scholarship Scheme are available at https://scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
• Registration on the portal is mandatory to submit the application form.
• To register, select the "Candidate Login" under the "Login" tab.
• Next, select the "Register here" tab and provide your Aadhaar number.
• Verify your Aadhaar number by submitting the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
• Post verification, complete the registration process by providing other details.
• After registering successfully, applicants will receive an email with the login details.
• To submit the application form, login with the received details.
• Once logged in, select the scheme from the student dashboard.
• Fill out the application with the required details.
• Upload the important documents in the given size and format.
• Review the application form before submitting it.
• Generate the printout of the submitted application form for future reference.
