Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana

Introduction

• Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana is the flagship scheme of Government of Uttar Pradesh for the welfare of Girls.
• It was started on 01-04-2019.
• The main objective behind launching Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana is to minimise the infant mortality rate of Girl Child and support her parents financially to give her a proper education.
• Uttar Pradesh Government's Department of Women and Child Development is the nodal department of this scheme.
• This scheme is also called "Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana" or "Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Scheme".
• In the initial phase of this scheme, Government of Uttar Pradesh is providing Financial Assistance of Rs. 15,000/- in 6 different stages as mentioned below :-
  • Rs. 2,000/- at the time of Birth of Girl Child.
  • Rs. 1,000/- when Girl Child attain the age of 1 year.
  • Rs. 2,000/- when Girl Child take admission in Class 1^st.
  • Rs. 2,000/- when Girl Child take admission in Class 6^th.
  • Rs. 3,000/- when Girl Child take admission in Class 9^th.
  • And the last instalment of Rs. 5,000/- will be provided when Girl Child passed Class 10th or 12th and take admission in higher course.
• But on 30-08-2023, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh gave a Rakshabandhan Gift to all the beneficiaries by increasing the amount of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana from Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 25,000/-.
• Now the Girl Beneficiary will get Rs. 25,000/- under Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana in 6 stages as mentioned below :-
  • Rs. 5,000/- at the time of Birth of a Girl Child.
  • Rs. 2,000/- when Girl Child attain the age of 1 year.
  • Rs. 3,000/- when Girl Child take admission in Class 1^st.
  • Rs. 3,000/- when Girl Child take admission in Class 6^th.
  • Rs. 5,000/- when Girl Child take admission in Class 9^th.
  • Rs. 7,000/- when Girl passed Class 10th/ 12th and and take admission in higher course.
• This Financial Assistance will cover the expenses incurred on Girl Child Education from her birth till the completion of Class 12th.
• Only permanent residents of Uttar Pradesh State are eligible to avail the benefit of this scheme.
• The Annual Family Income of Beneficiary Family should not be more than Rs. 3,00,000/- per year.
• Benefits of Financial Assistance will be provided to only 2 Girl Child per Family.
• Only those Girl Child are eligible whose birth date is on or after 01-04-2018.
• Adopted Girl Child are also eligible for financial assistance under Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana.
• Eligible Beneficiary can apply for financial assistance under Kanya Sumangla Yojana by filling the Online Application Form of Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana.

Benefits

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- in 6 stages will be provided to Eligible Girl Child under Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana :-

Eligibility

• The following eligibility condition is need to be fulfilled in order to avail the benefit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana :-
  • Beneficiary should be a Permanent Resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Beneficiary should be a Girl.
  • Birth of a Girl Child should be after 01-04-2018.
  • The Annual Income of Beneficiary should not be more than Rs. 3,00,000/- per year.
  • Benefits should only be given to maximum 2 Girl Child.

• The following documents is required at the time of availing the benefit of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana :-
  • Residence Proof of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Aadhar Card of Mother of Girl Child.
  • Aadhar Card of Father of Girl Child.
  • Income Certificate of Family.
  • Birth Certificate of Girl Child.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Ration Card.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Adoption Related Documents. (If Girl is Adopted)
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• Eligible Beneficiary can apply for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana is available at Kanya Sumangla Portal.
• Beneficiary has to Register themselves first.
• Fill the basic details in Registration Form of Kanya Sumangla Yojana and after that click on submit button.
• Now after registration, beneficiary has to Login in the same portal with the chosen User Name and Password.
• Now fill the Main Application Form of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana carefully.
• Upload all the required documents.
• Beneficiary Application will be submitted after clicking on Submit Button.
• Application of Kanya Sumangla Yojana will then forwarded to concerned officials for verification.
• Financial Assistance will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary after verification.
• Renewal of Application of Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana is mandatory to avail the benefit at every stage.
• Beneficiary can also check the Application Status of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana on the official portal.
• Apart from Online Application Form Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Beneficiary can also applyy for Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana by visiting their nearest Anganwadi Center.
