Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme

Introduction

• Marriage of a Girl is an expensive affair which required lots of money to make it happen happily.
• But a lot of families in Karnataka belongs to low income group and community which needed assistance.
• So, Government of Karnataka started Marriage Assistance Scheme for the welfare of Brides of Karnataka belonging to Schedule Caste Category.
• It was started in the year 2015.
• This scheme is also called "Karnataka SC Marriage Assistance Scheme".
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide financial assistance for the marriage of poor schedule caste girls of Karnataka.
• Commissionerate of Social Welfare of Karnataka Government is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• Under Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme, Government of Karnataka will provide financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- to the Brides belonging to Schedule Caste Category.
• Bride and Bride Groom belonging to Schedule Caste Category are only eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance for marriage.
• The Annual Family Income of Bride should be below Rs. 2,00,000/- per annum.
• Marriages held after 11-08-2015 are eligible for financial assistance under Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• It is mandatory to apply for financial assistance within 1 year of marriage.
• Application received for financial assistance after 1 year will not be considered at any cost.
• Marriage Certificate is required at the time of applying for Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance for marriage by filling Online Application Form of Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The following financial assistance will be provided to Brides of Karnataka belonging to Schedule Caste Category under Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme :-
  • Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- for the Marriage of Schedule Caste Brides of Karnataka.

Eligibility

• Couple should be a Permanent Residents of Karnataka.
• Bride and Bride Groom should be belong to Schedule Caste Category.
• Marriage should be held after 11-08-2015.
• The Annual Family Income of Bride Family should be below Rs. 2,00,000/- per year.
• Application should be submitted within 1 year of marriage.

  • Domicile of Karnataka.
  • Aadhar Card of Bride and Bridegroom.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Marriage Photograph.
  • Marriage Certificate.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• The only way to apply for financial assistance for marriage under Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is by filling Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is available on Department of Social Welfare Website.
• Applicant has to Register first by entering Aadhar Number of herself and the Aadhar Number of Spouse.
• After Registration fill the basic details about Bride, Bride Groom, Address of Residence, Marriage Details in the Application Form.
• Upload all the required documents in the portal.
• Enter the Bank Account Details.
• Preview the Application Form of Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme and Click on Submit Button.
• Print the Acknowledgement Receipt and secure it for future reference.
• Application Form along with all the documents will be forwarded to District Social Welfare Officer for verification.
• After verification, the financial assistance under Karnataka Schedule Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of beneficiary.
