Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The Karnataka state government along with state Minorities Development Corporation Limited, has announced various schemes for religious minority communities.
• Of these, one scheme is "Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers" which is exclusively available for silk spinners in the state.
• With this scheme, the government aims to strengthen the silk spinner community to empower them financially, which will help them to grow their trade exponentially.
• Under the scheme, the corporation offers a loan of Rs 2 lakh to each eligible silk spinner.
• The loan provided under the scheme comprises 50% i.e. Rs 1 lakh as a subsidy.
• It means, beneficiaries are required to repay only 50% of the loan amount i.e. Rs 1 lakh.
• Individuals can utilize the loan amount for the expansion of their trade or in basic infrastructure.
• Members of the religious minority communities engaged in silk spinning spinners activity can apply for the Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers.
• However, such beneficiaries need to meet the basic criteria outlined in the scheme.
• Domiciled applicants between 18 to 55 years with an annual family income less than Rs 6 lakh are eligible to apply.
• However, none of the applicant's family members should be a government employee either in state or central government.
• Additionally, applicant's family members must not have availed any loan or subsidy offered from the corporation in the last 5 years.
• Meanwhile, individuals who have previously benefited under the Arivu Education Loan and Foreign Education Loan Scheme can apply.
• Applications for Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers are invited online from KMDCL Online Application management Portal.
• Applicants must upload the requisite documents such as photo, income and caste certificate, address proof, project report, self declaration etc.

Scheme Benefits

• The Karnataka Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers promises certain benefits to silk spinning spinners; whose details are given as : -
  • The corporation will provide a loan of Rs 2 lakh to each eligible beneficiary.
  • Silk spinning spinners can use this loan for working capital or basic infrastructure.
  • 50% of the loan amount (i.e. Rs 1 lakh) will be provided as a subsidy.
  • The beneficiary are required to repay only 50% of the loan amount i.e. Rs 1 lakh.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants with the following eligibility criteria can apply for the Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers : -
  • Applicants must be of religious minority category.
  • Applicants must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
  • Applicants should be aged between 18 to 55 years.
  • Annual family income of beneficiaries should be less than Rs. 6,00,000/-.
  • None of the applicant's family members should be state or central government employees.
  • Applicants or their family member should not avail any loan or subsidy benefits from the corporation in the past 5 years (excluding Arivu Education Loan and Foreign Education Loan Scheme)
  • The applicants must not be a sustainer of the corporation.

  • Minority Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card Copy.
  • Bank Passbook Copy.
  • A detailed project report.
  • Applicants Self Declaration in the given format.

Steps to Apply

• Applications for the Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers can be submitted online.
• The Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers Application Form is available at KMDCL Online Application Management Portal.
• On the portal home page, click on the Apply Online tab.
• Enter Your mobile number and complete the verification process.
• For verification, the portal will send a 6 digit OTP to the mobile number provided.
• Enter the OTP in the given space and press the submit tab.
• Post successful verification, applicants need to enter their Aadhaar number.
• Verify the Aadhaar number with OTP sent to the number linked to Aadhaar.
• Once the Aadhaar is verified, select the Incentive Scheme for Sericulture Reelers from the list of the schemes.
• Fill out all the required details in the application form and press the 'Next' tab.
• Upload the list of documents as needed in the given size and format.
• Preview the application form, before its final submission.
• After submission, save the Application ID generated for future reference.
• Beneficiaries can use the application ID to track the status of their submitted applications.
