West Bengal Widow Pension Scheme

Introduction

• Widow Pension Scheme of West Bengal is the monetary assistance scheme of West Bengal Government.
• It was launched in the year 2010.
• The main objective behind starting Widow Pension Scheme is to provide financial support to Widow Women and Girls of West Bengal.
• Department of Women & Child and Social Welfare of West Bengal Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• West Bengal Widow Pension Scheme is also called "West Bengal Financial Assistance Scheme to Widow" or "West Bengal Monthly Pension Scheme for Widow".
• Government of West Bengal will provide monthly financial assistance as a pension of Rs. 1,000/- to all unmarried but widow women and girls of West Bengal.
• Only permanent resident of West Bengal and those beneficiaries who residing in West Bengal for not less than 10 years are eligible for monthly widow pension.
• The monthly income of widow should not be more than Rs. 1,000/- per month of her own.
• Death Certificate and Any Identity Proof of Deceased Husband is mandatory at the time of applying for Widow Pension Scheme.
• Eligible Widow Beneficiary can apply for monthly Widow Pension by filling the Offline Application Form of West Bengal Widow Pension Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The below mentioned benefit will be provided to eligible widow beneficiaries under Widow Pension Scheme of Government of West Bengal :-
  • Rs. 1,000/- per Month Pension to Eligible Widow Beneficiaries.

Eligibility Criteria

• Widow Beneficiary should be Permanent Residents of West Bengal OR,
• Widow Beneficiary should be a Resident of West Bengal for 10 Years.
• Beneficiary should be a Widow and Unmarried.
• Monthly Income of Widow Women should be below Rs. 1,000/- per month.

Documents Required

• Any One Residence/ Identity Proof of West Bengal :-
  • Passport.
  • PAN Card.
  • Voter ID Card.
• Aadhar Card.
• Income Certificate.
• Ration Card.
• Bank Account Details.
• Death Certificate of Husband.
• Any ID of Deceased Husband.
• Non-Marriage Certificate.

How to Apply

• Widow Beneficiary can apply for monthly pension by filling West Bengal Widow Pension Scheme Application Form.
• Widow Pension Application Form will be collected from the below mentioned offices :-
  • Sub Divisional Officer Office in Urban Area.
  • Block Development Officer/ Panchayat Samiti Office in Rural Area.
  • Controller of Vagrancy Office. (In Kolkata Municipal Corporation Area)
• Fill the Application Form and attach all the documents with it.
• Submit the duly filled Application Form with all the documents in the same office from where the application form was collected.
• Widow Pension Scheme Application Form and Documents will be scrutinised by the concerned officials.
• After initial verification, Final Approval will be provided by the District Magistrate.
• Widow Beneficiary can check their Application Status Here with the help of Application ID.
• Monthly Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per month will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary as soon as approved by the District Magistrate.
