Scheme Introduction : A Brief Overview

• Lek Ladki Scheme is a flagship scheme of Government of Maharashtra for the girls of the State.
• Lek Ladki Scheme was announced by Finance Minister of Maharashtra Sh. Devendra Fadnavis in his 2023-2024 budget speech.
• The main objective behind launching Lek Ladki Scheme is to empower girls and encourage them to complete their basic education.
• Women and Child Development Department of Government of Maharashtra is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Government of Maharashtra will provided financial assistance of around Rs. 1,01,000/- on 5 different stages to eligible girl beneficiaries.
• Under the Lek Ladki Scheme, the following financial assistance will be provided to the girls of the state from her birth to till she attain the age of 18 years:-
  • Rs. 5,000/- :- At the Time of Birth.
  • Rs. 6,000/- :- When Girl take Admission in Class 1st.
  • Rs. 7,000/- :- When Girl take Admission in Class 6th.
  • Rs. 8,000/- :- When Girl take Admission in Class 11th.
  • Rs. 75,000/- :- When Girl Attain the Age of 18 Years.
• Families holding any of the below mentioned Ration Card are eligible to avail the benefit of Lek Ladki Scheme :-
  • Orange Ration Card.
  • Yellow Ration Card.
• Only those Girls Beneficiaries are eligible to avail the benefit of Lek Ladki Scheme who are born on or after 1st of April 2023.
• Through Lek Ladki Scheme, the educational and social status of girls will be strengthened.
• Those families whose annual income is more than Rs. 1 lakh per year are not eligible to avail the benefit of Lek Ladki Scheme.
• Lek Ladki Scheme of Maharashtra is also known by other name called "Lek Ladki Yojana" or "Maharashtra Financial Assistance Scheme for Girls".
• Majhi Kanya Bhagyashree Scheme is also a similar kind of scheme for Girls in Maharashtra.
• Beneficiaries can apply for Lek Ladki Scheme through Application Form which is available free of cost in the office of Anganwadi Center or District Program Officer Office.
• Payment Status of Lek Ladki Scheme after applying can checked by visiting the nearest Anganwadi Centre.

Scheme Benefits

• Maharashtra Government will provide the following financial assistance all to eligible girl beneficiaries at different stages under Lek Ladki Scheme :-

  Stage	Amount
  At the Time of Birth	Rs. 5,000/-
  When Girl take Admission in Class 1st	Rs. 6,000/-
  When Girl take Admission in Class 6th	Rs. 7,000
  When Girl take Admission in Class 11th	Rs. 8,000/-
  When Girl Completed the Age of 18 Years	Rs. 75,000/-
  Total	Rs. 1,01,000/-

Eligibility Requirements

• The following eligibility conditions are set by Maharashtra Government in order to provide the financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries under Lek Ladki Scheme :-
  • Girls Parents should be a Permanent Resident of Maharashtra.
  • Beneficiary should have a Orange or Yellow Ration Card.
  • Girl Child should be born on or after 1st April 2023.
  • The Family Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 1,00,000/- per year.

Required Documents

• Women Beneficiary should have all the below mentioned documents at the time of applying for financial assistance as promised by Government of Maharashtra under Lek Ladki Scheme :-
  • Maharashtra Residence Proof.
  • Aadhar Card of Girl Child.
  • Birth Certificate of Girl Child.
  • Passport Size Photo of Girl Child.
  • Aadhar Card of Girls Parents.
  • Yellow or Orange Ration Card.
  • Family Planning Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Income Certificate.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible beneficiaries can apply for Lek Ladki Scheme of Maharashtra Government through Application Form.
• Application Form of Lek Ladki Scheme is available free of cost in any of the below mentioned offices :- 
  • District Program Officer.
  • District Parishad.
  • District Women and Child Development Officer.
  • Rural and Urban Child Development Project Officer.
  • Divisional Deputy Commissioner Women and Child Development.
  • Anganwadi Center.
• Collect the Lek Ladki Scheme Application Form and fill it carefully.
• Attact all required documents with the Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form of Lek Ladki Scheme along with all the documents in Anganwadi Supervisor Office.
• Anganwadi Supervisor or Chief Sevika will inspect the recieved lek ladaki scheme application form and documents.
• Selected Application Forms will then forwarded for further scrutiny to Disctrict Program Officer or Zila Parishad Office.
• Then final list of Lek Ladki Scheme beneficiary will be forwarded to commissionerate for further approval.
• Selected beneficiaries will be informed through SMS or Email.
• Financial Assistance under Lek Ladki Scheme of Maharashtra Government will then transferred in the given bank account of girl beneficiary in every stage.
• Application Status of Lek Ladki Scheme can be check by visiting the Anganwadi Centre.
• Women Beneficiary can also visit Anganwadi Centre in case of any help or information required about Lek Ladki Scheme of Maharashtra Government.
