Introduction

• Government of Uttarakhand is being focused on students studying in Colleges and Universities.
• A lots of welfare scheme for students are currently running in Uttarakhand State.
• In addition to it, on 24-08-2023, Uttarakhand Government gave the nod to start one more scheme for the welfare of students.
• The name of Scheme will be "Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana".
• The name of scheme is made of two words which are :-
  • "Devbhoomi" :- Means "Devon ki Bhoomi i.e. Uttarakhand".
  • "Udhyamita" :- Means "Entrepreneurship".
• So the main objective behind starting Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana is to make students self reliable and help them to start self employment by providing them skill and entrepreneurship training.
• Free of Cost Skill and Entrepreneurship Training will be provided under Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana to those students who are currently studying in Colleges or Universities.
• This helps students to start their own business or startup without relying on Government Jobs.
• Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana is also called "Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Entrepreneurship Scheme" or "Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Udhyamita Scheme".
• Department of Higher Education of Uttarakhand Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Selected students will get training regarding entrepreneurship and skill which is totally free of cost.
• Every year 3,000 Students will be selected under this scheme.
• To provide qualitative and better training to selected students, Department of Higher Education collaborated with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India which is situated in Ahmedabad.
• Apart from free of cost training, Boot Camp Pitching Event and Seed Funding will also organize under the Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana.
• Principal and Teachers of Colleges and Universities will also get Entrepreneurship Mentor Training and Training of Centre of Excellence under this scheme.
• Government also planned to add Entrepreneurship Syllabus in the upcoming Education Program.
• For the successful implementation of the Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana, the Uttarakhand Government released a budget of Rs. 7,11,95000/- .
• Every year, ten institutions will be selected as centres of excellence and will receive a sum of Rs 5,00,000/- as financial assistance.
• For the year 2024-25, ten centres of excellence has been finalized for Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana.
• The selected institution will serve as a hub in important areas such as agri-food processing, Ayush and wellness, Tourism, logistics and supply chain management, biotechnology, education tech, women entrepreneurship.
• Under this scheme, the government aim to develop 100 startups through these center of excellence over the period of next five years.

Benefits of Scheme

• Government of Uttarakhand will provide the following benefits to selected students under Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana :-
  • Free of Cost Entrepreneurship and Skill Training will be provided.
  • Entrepreneurship Training will be provided by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.
  • 3,000 Students will be Selected every year for Skill and Entrepreneurship Training.
  • Boot Camp Pitching Event and Seed Funding will also organize for Students.

Eligibility

• Student should be a Resident of Uttarakhand.
• Student should be Studying in any College or University of Uttarakhand.

• The below mentioned documents will be mandatorily needed at the time of applying for Uttarakhand Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana :-
  • Residence Proof of Uttarakhand.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Email ID.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Education Related Documents.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Income Certificate.

How to Apply

• Students who are eligible and interested in the Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana may submit their applications.
• The application form for Devbhoomi Udhyamita Yojana will be accepted online from Department of Higher Education Website.
• Participants need to register online for Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana.
• Fill all the mandatory details requested in the application form and upload the required documents.
• The nodal department will follow the procedures as earmarked in the guidelines.
• Post verification and scrutiny applicants will be invited for their selected participation.
