Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana

Introduction

• Government of Uttarakhand implements lots of scheme in State to promote and encourage education among girls.
• It is often seen in hill and plain areas of Uttarakhand that girls leave their education due to non availability of public transport from their house to school.
• Due to this, girls of Uttarakhand State are not able to complete their basic education.
• Keeping all these problems in mind, Government of Uttarakhand gave approval to implement new scheme with an objective to promote education among girl students.
• The name of the Scheme is "Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana".
• Department of Education of Uttarakhand Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• This scheme is going to be known by some other names such as "Uttarakhand Free Bicycle Scheme" or "Uttarakhand Financial Assistance Scheme for Bicycle" or "Uttarakhand Free Cycle Scheme for Girl Students" or "Uttarakhand Girl Education Incentive Scheme" or "Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Scheme".
• Financial Assistance to purchase cycle will be provided to all eligible girl students under Uttarakhand Government's Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana.
• Rs. 2,850/- will be provided to all girl students under Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana to purchase bicycle for themselves.
• Financial Assistance to purchase cycle will only provided to those girl beneficiaries who successfully passed class 8th examination and currently studying in class 9th.
• All Girl Students who are studying in Government or Non-Government School in Class 9th are eligible to get incentive amount to purchase bicycle under Balika Protsahan Yojana of Uttarakhand Government.
• It is mandatory for a girl students who are residing in plain area of Uttarakhand to purchase bicycle from incentive amount.
• Girl Students residing in hilly areas of Uttarakhand have an option, either she can purchase the cycle from incentive amount or she can FD that amount in any bank or post office.
• Uttarakhand Government sanctioned Rs. 14 Crore for 13 districts for the proper implementation of Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana.
• Selection of Girl Students under Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana will be done by a four member committee constituted by Department of Education.
• So, Girls Students doesn't have any need to apply for Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,850/- as promised by Uttarakhand Government to purchase bicycle under Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana.

Benefits of Scheme

• Government of Uttarakhand will provide the following benefits under Balika Protsahan Yojana to those girls students who are currently studying in Class 9th :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided to Purchase Bicycle.
  • Amount of Rs. 2,850/- will be provide to Purchase Cycle.

Eligibility Criteria

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 2,850/- to purchase bicycle will be provided to only those girl students who fulfil the following eligibility conditions of Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana :-
  • Girl Student should be a Resident of Uttarakhand.
  • Girl Student should have passed Class 8th Examination.
  • Girl Student should be currently studying in Class 9th in any Government or Non- Government School.

Documents Required

• The following documents are needed in order to avail the benefit of incentive amount to purchase bicycle under Uttarakhand Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana :-
  • Aadhar Card.
  • School Identity Card.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Marksheet of Class 8th.

How to Apply

• Beneficiary doesn't have any need to apply separately in order to avail the benefit of incentive amount for the purchase of bicycle under Balika Shiksha Protsahan Yojana of Uttarakhand Government.
• Uttarakhand Education Department will form a four member committee in every district to select the eligible girl students.
• Four Member Committee in every District consists :-
  • Chief Education Officer.
  • District Education Officer.
  • Finance Officer.
  • Senior Most Principal of that District.
• Committee will scrutinized the result of class 8th and make a list of passed and eligible girl students according to the guidelines.
• Physical Verification will also done at every block level of minimum 20% eligible girl students.
• Committee then made a final list of eligible girl students who are eligible to get incentive amount for cycle purchase under Balika Protsahan Yojana and send it to Department of Education for further approval and disbursement of amount.
• Uttarakhand Education Department will then transferred the incentive amount of Rs. 2,850/- to purchase bicycle in the bank account of girl beneficiary.
