Introduction

• During the budget speech of year 2024-2025, the Finance Minister announced several welfare schemes for the people of Uttar Pradesh.
• The primary objective of these schemes is to provide essential facilities and improve the livelihoods of the state's residents.
• The Finance Minister's main focus is on the agriculture sector, particularly addressing crop damage caused by wild animals.
• Farmers face problems with wild animals damaging their crops and staying up all night to protect them.
• In response to this issue, the government has introduced a new scheme called the "Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Khet Surakhsha Yojana."
• This scheme aims to protect farmer's crops from damage caused by wild animals.
• Under this scheme, the state government will offer financial assistance to install solar energy fencing around farmers' crops.

Benefits of the Scheme

• Uttar Pradesh government provide following benefits to the eligible beneficiary under the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Khet Surakhsha Yojana:-
  • The beneficiary will receive a grant of Rs. 1.43 lakh to install solar fencing for farm security, using a 12-volt current system.
  • A grant covering 60% of the cost per hectare will be provided.

Eligibility Criteria

• Under the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Khet Surakhsha Yojana, only farmers are eligible to apply.
• Farmer should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
• Small and marginal farmers are eligible to apply.

• During the budget, Finance Minister Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna announced the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Khet Surakhsha Yojana.
• The draft of this proposed scheme, prepared by the Agriculture Department, will be approved by the state cabinet.
• Information on how to apply for the scheme is currently unavailable.
• Normally, applications can be submitted through two methods: online and offline.
• For online applications, applicants must fill application form and upload all required documents online.
• For offline applications, applicants should fill out the offline application form, attach all necessary documents, and submit them to the Agriculture Department office.
