  • Beneficiaries will get the following benefits from Jammu and Kashmir Government under Ladli Beti Scheme -
    • Recurring Deposit of Rs. 1,000/- per month by J&K Government till the girl attained the age of 14 years.
    • After that Cumulative Term Deposit by J&K Government till the girl attained the age of 21 years.
    • After attaining the age of 21 years, the girl child will get an approximate amount of 6.50 lakh rupees.
    • The Financial Assistance will be directly transferred into the bank account through DBT.

    amount of 6.50 lakh rupees.

Introduction

  • Ladli Beti Scheme is a social assistance scheme sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Government for new born girl child.
  • The objective of Ladli Beti Scheme is to stop feticide and to encourage people of Jammu and Kashmir to let their daughter studies further.
  • The scheme further intends to ensure that the girl child does not become a burden for the parent/ guardian at the time of her marriage.
  • Department of Social Welfare of Jammu and Kashmir Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
  • All Girl Child Born on or after 01-04-2015 in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are eligible to apply for Ladli Beti Scheme.
  • Ladli Beti Scheme is a hybrid deposit plan having two phases :-
    • Phase I: A recurring deposit for 14 years having a date of completion as one month after the last installment received in the account.
    • Phase II: A Cumulative Term Deposit (CCR) for 7 years.
  • After the maturity of Phase I (recurring deposit account) the account will graduate to Phase II (Cumulative Term Deposit account).
  • The monthly contribution of Rs. 1000/- in Phase-I is made by the J&K Govt.
  • The maximum maturity period of J&K Ladli Beti Scheme is 21 years.
  • After that, Beneficiary has to apply to Claim the Amount of Ladli Beti Scheme of Jammu and Kashmir Government.
  • Only those people are eligible to apply for Ladli Beti Scheme whose annual family income is not more than Rs. 75,000/-.
  • The beneficiaries get 1,000 rupees per month credited into the bank account through DBT Mode of the Girl Child up to the age of 14 years.
  • After attaining the age of 21 years, the girl child will get an amount approximate amount of 6.50 lakh rupees.
  • Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for Jammu and Kashmir Ladli Beti Scheme through Online Application Form.
  • Jammu and Kashmir Ladli Beti Scheme Online Application Form is available on Jansugam Portal.

Eligibility

  • Beneficiaries who fulfil the below mentioned eligibility conditions are eligible to apply for the benefit of Jammu and Kashmir Ladli Beti Scheme :-
    • Girl Child and her family should be a Residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
    • The Birth of a Girl Child should be on or after 01-04-2015.
    • Annual Income of the Parents of a Girl Child should be less than Rs. 75,000/-.

Documents Required

  • Documents that are required to be uploaded on Jansugam Portal at the time of applying for Jammu and Kashmir Ladli Beti Scheme are as follows :-
    • Domicile Certificate of the Parent/Guardian.
    • Birth Certificate of the Girl Child.
    • Passport Size Photo.
    • Aadhaar Number of the Girl Child.
    • Aadhaar Number of the Parent/Guardian.
    • Identity Proof of the Parents/ Legal Guardians of the girl child.
    • Duly filled and signed Application Form.
    • KYC Norms of Parent/ Guardian.
    • Sanction letter from Child Development Project Officer.
    • Bank Account Details.
    • Income Certificate of the Parent/Guardian.

Application Process

Features of Scheme

  • The Child Development Project Office shall reject/ revert the application (in case of deficiency) after duly recording the reasons for the same or forward the application within 15 days to District Project Officer for approval.
  • The District Project Officer shall reject/ revert after duly recording reasons (in case of deficiency) or forward the application within 10 days to Deputy Commissioner for sanction.
  • The Deputy Commissioner shall reject/ revert after duly recording reasons (in case of deficiency) or sanction the application within 10 days and forward it to the Director (Finance) / FA & CAO, Social Welfare Department for disbursement of the financial assistance of Ladli Beti Scheme.
