Introduction

• The Government of Himachal Pradesh has implemented various social welfare schemes for the welfare of residents.
• One such scheme is the "Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana,".
• Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana was launched in 2023.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide assistance to orphan children, destitute women, and elderly individuals.
• Under this scheme, children below 27 years receive financial aid for coaching and hostel fees.
• Students will receive Rs. 4,000/- per month as a pocket expenses.
• 4000 orphan children are granted the status of 'Children of the State' under the scheme.
• They receive benefits such as education, hostel facilities, educational trips, startup assistance, marriage assistance, etc.
• The government has allocated Rs. 101 crore for smooth implementation of the scheme.
• Education facilities are provided nearby child care institutions.
• Activities like educational trips and monthly picnics are organized for children's development.
• Counseling sessions are conducted for students in 10th and 12th grades.
• Students also receive marriage assistance of Rs. 2,00,000 under this scheme.
• Upon completing their studies from child care institutions, students receive additional benefits until the age of 27 such as higher education,vocational training and skill developemnt tarinings
• Under the Chief Minister Swavalamban Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to self-employed students after completing education.

Benefits of the Scheme

• The following benefits will be given to the eligible applicants under the 'Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana:-
  • Recurring accounts for orphan children and destitute women will be opened.
  • Children below 14 years will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 per month.
  • Single women and children between 14 to 18 years will receive Rs. 2,500 per month.
  • Land will be provided to orphan children to build their own houses.
  • Children living in orphanages will receive Rs. 500 for celebrating festivals.
  • Children above 18 years will receive Rs. 1,00,000 for coaching and hostel facilities.
  • During the course, students will receive Rs. 4,000 per month.
  • Under this scheme, the government will provide Rs. 2,00,000 for marriage.
  • For students above 18 years who want to start their own business, the government will provide Rs. 2,00,000 in assistance.
  • Children will go on a yearly educational trip out of the state for 15 days.

Eligibility Criteria

• Benefits will be given to those applicants who fulfill all the conditions given below:-
  • Applicant should be a resident of Himachal Pradesh.
  • All orphan children whose age should be less than 27 years old.
  • Destitute women, single women and senior persons will also be eligible for this scheme.
  • Under single women, only those women whose husband is missing for seven years or more or such women who have not married will be eligible.
  • Only those women whose husband has left them and are living separately from their husband will be eligible under Single Woman.
  • All women covered under Nari Seva Sadan and Shakti Sadan will be eligible for the scheme.

  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Adhaar Card.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Death Certificate of Mother-Father.
  • Affidavit of destitute woman.
  • Hostel receipt for coaching facility.
  • Affidavit of not owning land.
  • Mobile No.

How to Apply

• Beneficiaries can apply offline for the 'Himachal Pradesh Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Scheme'.
• Applicants can collect an offline application form from the office of the Directorate of Women and Child Development.
• Any individual can register on behalf of an orphan child.
• After collecting the application form, fill it out correctly and attach all required documents.
• After attaching all documents, submit the application form to the Directorate office.
• Officers will verify the details and documents of the applicant.
• After verification, a list of verified applications will be prepared.
• A recurring account will be opened for those beneficiaries who are finally selected under the scheme.
• The scheme amount will be deposited directly into the recurring account of the beneficiary.
• A recurring account for the finally selected beneficiary will be opened, in which the scheme-related amount will be deposited.
