Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Himachal Pradesh government has started an initiative "E Taxi Self Driving Scheme".
• The primary objective of the scheme is to provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth of Himachal Pradesh.
• Under this scheme, the Government of Himachal Pradesh will provide the subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi.
• Scheme offers a subsidy of 50% to the actual price of E Taxi Vehicle to all eligible youth on the purchase of E Taxi.
• It means, if an unemployed educated youth planned to purchase the E Taxi for self employment purpose then half the E Taxi Price will be paid by the government as a subsidy.
• Through this scheme, the government not only provides employment opportunities but also works towards a cleaner and greener environment.
• While presenting the budget of 2023, the Government had promised to start a self employment scheme.
• Keeping the promise, the Himachal Pradesh Government started the Rajiv Gandhi Self Employment Start Up Scheme.
• The Himachal Pradesh Rajiv Gandhi Swarozgaar Yojana will act as an Umbrella scheme for various initiatives, and E Taxi Self Driving Scheme is one of them.
• This scheme is to be known by other names such as :- "Himachal Pradesh E Taxi Scheme" or "Himachal Pradesh E Taxi Yojana" or "Himachal Pradesh E Taxi Self Driving Yojana".
• Beneficiaries will also receive a loan facility for the remaining amount of the vehicle at a nominal interest rate.
• The purchased E Taxi will be hired by the Departments of Himachal Pradesh for their use.
• Initially, the government will hire taxis for 4 years, and is likely to be extended further for 2 years.
• Benefits of 50% Subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi will be provided to those youths of Himachal Pradesh who are Class 12th passed, have a minimum age of 23 years and have a minimum 7 years of driving experience.
• It is necessary to have a valid driving license to avail the benefit.
• Beneficiary Youth will have to drive the purchased E Taxi by himself, Hiring a Driver is not permitted.
• Government of Himachal Pradesh sets the clear guidelines that E Taxi Scheme is not for business purpose.
• Himachal Pradesh Government will pay the fixed amount of monthly stipend to youth for giving their E Taxi services in Government Departments.
• Educated but Unemployed Youth can apply for Subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi Vehicle under E Taxi Self Driving Scheme of Himachal Pradesh Government through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Himachal E Taxi Scheme is available on Transport Department Website.
• Beneficiary has to pay the nominal application fees of Rs. 20/- at the time of filling the application.
• Application Status of E Taxi Scheme will be received by the youth on their mobile phone from time to time.

Scheme Benefits

• The following benefits will be provided to unemployed educated youth under the HP E Taxi Self Driving Scheme :-
  • Subsidy of 50% on the Purchase of E Taxi.
  • Half Price of E Taxi will be Paid by the Himachal Government.
  • Facility of Loan on less Interest Rate for Remaining Price of E Taxi.
  • Government of Himachal will Hire the E Taxi for their Departments.
  • Initial Agreement will be of 4 Years, which will be extended again for 2 years.

Eligibility Requirements

• Government has set the following eligibility conditions in order to provide the benefit of 50% Subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi under E Taxi Self Driving Scheme :-
  • Beneficiary Youth should be a Permanent Resident of Himachal Pradesh.
  • The Minimum Age of Beneficiary should be 23 Years.
  • Beneficiary must have a Valid Driving License.
  • Applicants completed 12th must have a 7 Years of Experience of Driving a Vehicle.
  • Applicants is 10th passed, he should have a 10 years of experience to drive a vehicle.
  • Benefits will be Provided to One Person per Family.

Required Documents

• Documents required at the time of applying for 50% Subsidy on E Taxi purchase under Himachal Pradesh Government's E Taxi Self Driving Scheme are as follows : -
  • Residence Proof of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Unemployment Certificate.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Driving License.
  • Class 12th Marksheet/ Certificate.
  • Age Proof.
  • PAN Card.
  • Email ID.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Mobile Number.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible Beneficiaries can avail the benefit of 50% subsidy on the purchase of E Taxi Vehicle under Himachal Pradesh Government's E Taxi Self Driving Scheme by filling Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Himachal Pradesh E Taxi Self Driving Scheme is available on the Website of Transport Department of Himachal Government.
• Beneficiaries have to Register themselves first.
  
• Fill the below mentioned details in the Registration Form of E Taxi Self Driving Scheme of Himachal Pradesh :-
  • Personal Information like Name, Age, Father's Name, RTO Detail etc.
  • Permanent Address.
  • Address of Correspondence.
  • Educational Qualification related detail.
  • Upload the Required Documents.
  • Choose the Password.
• Website will verify details of Beneficiary through OTP verification.
• Login on the Website with Email ID and Chosen Password after verification.
• Fill the remaining details in the Application Form of Himachal Pradesh Self Driving Scheme after Log In.
  
• You need to pay to nominal Application Fees of Rs. 20/- before submitting the Application Form.
• Transport Department of Himachal Pradesh Government will verify the received Application Form and Documents.
• List of beneficiaries selected for subsidy under E Taxi Scheme will be prepared.
• Himachal E Taxi Scheme Beneficiary List will then be forwarded to Car Dealers for the purchase of E Taxi.
• Car Dealers will then forward the list of beneficiaries to financial institutions for granting a loan after completing all the documentation.
• Beneficiaries will get the E Taxi under Himachal Pradesh E Taxi Self Driving Scheme as soon as the loan gets approved.
• Beneficiary Youth will get the status of his application on his mobile phone through SMS.
