Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

  • After securing a thumping victory in the Assembly Election, the Bharatiya Janata Party returned to power in NCT Delhi after 27 years.
  • As the party wins the election, now it's time to fulfill the promises made during the election campaign.
  • Ahead of the election the party announced several welfare schemes targeting different categories of society in its election manifesto.
  • One such scheme that changed the course of the elections is the "Mahila Samriddhi Yojana".
  • With an aim to empower NCT Delhi Women financially, especially the poor who belong to disadvantaged groups of society, the government introduced this scheme.
  • The scheme has been passed by the cabinet and launched officially on March 8, 2025.
  • Under Mukhyamantri Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, each eligible woman will receive financial assistance of Rs 2,500/-.
  • The primary objective of the scheme is to provide assistance to these women, helping them to alleviate the financial burden and to meet their daily needs.
  • Assistance of Rs 2,500/- under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samriddhi Yojana will be provided to each beneficiary every month.

  • It is mandatory for the women to meet the criteria stated in the scheme to receive monthly assistance of Rs 2,500/-.
  • Women who are the domiciled residents of Delhi for at least 5 years and possess a BPL Card are eligible for Delhi Mahila Samriddhi Scheme.
  • The registration for Delhi Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is to be invited soon.
  • Based on the registration, the authority will prepare a list of beneficiaries who are entitled for the scheme benefits.

Scheme Benefits

  • With the aim to empower poor women of Delhi, the newly appointed Delhi Government has announced the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. Under this scheme, eligible women in Delhi will receive the following benefits : -
    • Financial assistance of Rs 2,500/- to all women.
    • Women will receive the assistance every month.
    • Assistance amount will be credited directly to the women's bank account.

Eligibility Requirements

  • To receive the monthly assistance of Rs 2,500/- under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, beneficiaries must meet the criteria stated in the scheme. The scheme implementation process is still pending, so the criteria stated below are tentative and could be changed : -
    • The scheme is specifically for women.
    • Applicants must be domiciled residents of Delhi for at least 5 years.
    • Beneficiary women must be poor and belong to BPL Families.
    • Beneficiarie's age must be between 21 and 60 years.
    • The annual family income must be less than Rs 3 lakh.
    • Only one woman per family will receive scheme benefits.
    • A detailed list of criteria will be shared upon scheme implementation.
    • Beneficiaries must have a single operated Aadhaar Linked bank account in Delhi.

Ineligibility Criteria of the Scheme

  • Women who fall under any of the following criteria will not be considered eligible for the Delhi Mahila Samriddhi Yojana : -
    • If the woman has not completed five years of residing in Delhi.
    • If the annual income of the family exceeds Rs 3 lakh.
    • Any member of the family must not be a tax payer.
    • If the husband of the beneficiaries is a government employee.
    • Widow and destitute women who are already receiving assistance from their respective schemes.
    • Women receiving assistance from other schemes.

Required Documents

  • Women beneficiaries must submit the following documents in support of their eligibility when applying for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samriddhi Yojana : -
    • Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID Card/ PAN Card etc.).
    • Address Proof (Aadhaar Card/ Voter ID Card/ Electricity and Water bill etc.).
    • Income Certificate not more than 6 months old.
    • BPL Card.
    • Domicile Certificate.
    • Passport Size photograph.
    • Bank Passbook.
    • Self Declaration.
    • Ration Card.
    • Others shared in the guidelines or application form.

Steps to Apply

  • Women beneficiaries fulfilling all the requisite criteria can apply for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana.
  • The registration process for Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana will commence very soon.
  • It is expected that the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana application will be accepted either online or offline.
  • The authority will soon specify the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana Application process.
  • If Mukhyamantri Mahila Samriddhi Yojana applications are invited online, they can be submitted through the nodal department or portal designed for the scheme.
  • On the other hand, if authority invites applications offline, applicants must submit them at the designated nodal authority office.
  • Applicants need to share the personal details and documents while submitting the form.
  • After final submission, the authority will verify all submitted details and documents to confirm applicants eligibility.
  • A list of beneficiaries is likely to be prepared by the authority who successfully clears the verification test.
