Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• The newly appointed BJP government had promised to implement several schemes during the election campaign if it wins the New Delhi assembly election.
• After securing a thunderous victory, the government is now looking to implement these schemes accordingly.
• Among these, one scheme for pregnant women is called "Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana".
• The scheme primarily aims to support every pregnant woman in Delhi during her pregnancy.
• The beneficiary woman will receive assistance of Rs 21,000/- under the Mukhya Mantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana.
• Along with this, the government will provide six nutritional kits to ensure their overall growth and well being.
• The announced scheme is also known by other names such as "Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana" or "Mukhymantri Matrutva Suraksha Vandana Yojana" or "Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Scheme".

• This scheme is similar to Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, a central government initiative where eligible women receive financial assistance.

Scheme Benefits

• Under the Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana, the Delhi government will provide the following benefits to eligible pregnant women : -
  • Every Pregnant woman in Delhi will receive assistance of Rs 21,000/-.
  • The assistance will be provided as a one time benefit and likely to be credited in installments.
  • Beneficiaries will receive this assistance directly to their bank account via DBT mode.
  • Each woman will also receive six nutritional kits for their overall growth.

Eligibility Requirements

• Well, the assistance of Rs 21,000 and six nutritional kits under the Mukhya Mantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana will be provided to beneficiaries who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the scheme. However, the government didn't share any details about the eligibility. The criteria listed below are tentative and subject to be changed : -
  • The applicant must be a pregnant and a permanent resident of Delhi.
  • The minimum age of the beneficiaries should be 19 years.
  • Beneficiaries must be poor and belong to disadvantaged groups of society.
  • Every woman is likely to receive its benefits for a birth of maximum two children.
  • Government employees and individuals paying income tax are not eligible.
  • Beneficiaries must not avail similar benefits from any other schemes.

  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Address Proof.
  • Ration Card.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Income Proof.
  • Bank Passbook Copy.
  • Self Declaration.
  • Antenatal Care Report.
  • Last Menstrual Period Date.
  • Passport Size Photo.
  • Others as listed in the guidelines.

Steps to Apply

• Eligible applicants must apply for the Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana.
• The government announced this scheme during the assembly election, but its implementation process is yet to be completed.
• Due to this, it is not clear whether the Application form for Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana will be accepted either online or offline.
• If the authority invites Mukhyamantri Matritva Suraksha Yojana online, you can submit the form through the dedicated portal or the concerned department website.
• If applications are invited offline, applicants can submit their form at the nearest Angangwadi centers or as suggested in the scheme guidelines.
