Karnataka ST Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme

Introduction

• Karnataka Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government towards removing the discrimination based on caste.
• This marriage assistance scheme was started in the year 2016.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to remove the discrimination in the society based on caste and make every person of Karnataka par with each other.
• Department of Scheduled Tribe Welfare of Karnataka Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Karnataka Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme, Karnataka Government will provide financial assistance of Rs. 2,50,000/- to Bride Groom and Rs. 3,00,000/- to Bride as an incentive for their marriage.
• It is a Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme, so it is mandatory that one of the couple either Bride or Bride Groom should be belong to Schedule Tribe Category.
• Financial Assistance under Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will only be provided to those Schedule Tribe residents of Karnataka who marries a Non Schedule Tribe Hindu Person.
• Those couple are not eligible to avail the financial assistance for marriage whose annual family income of is more than Rs. 5,00,000/- per year.
• Marriages held after 07-02-2019 are eligible for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• It is mandatory to apply for financial assistance within 1.5 year of marriage.
• Application received for financial assistance after 1.5 year will not be considered at any cost.
• Marriage Certificate is required at the time of applying for Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.
• Eligible Couples can apply for financial assistance by filling Online Application Form of Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme.

Benefits

• The following financial assistance will be provided to Married Couples of Karnataka if either of the Bride or Bride Groom belongs to the Schedule Tribe Category :-
  • Rs. 2,50,000/- will be provided to Men.
  • Rs. 3,00,000/- will be provided to Women.

Eligibility

• Applicant should be a Permanent Residents of Karnataka.
• Any One from Bride or Bride Groom should be belong to Schedule Tribe Category.
• Marriage of a Couple should be held on or after 07-02-2019.
• The Annual Family Income should be below Rs. 5,00,000/- per year.
• Application for Assistance should be submitted within 1.5 year of marriage.

How to Apply

• Married Couple can apply for financial assistance under Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme by filling Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme is available on Tribal Welfare Department Website.
• Couple has to Register by entering Aadhar Number of Bride and the Aadhar Number of Bride Groom.
• After Registration fill the personal details, contact details and marriage details, bank account details of Bride and Bride Groom in the Application Form.
• Upload all the documents in the portal in pdf format.
• Preview the Application Form and Submit it.
• Print the Acknowledgement Receipt and secure it for further reference.
• Schedule Tribe Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme Application Form along with all the documents will be verified by the District Tribal Welfare Officer.
• After verification, the financial assistance under Karnataka ST Inter Caste Couple Marriage Assistance Scheme will be transferred in the given bank account of couple.
