Introduction

  • Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana was first started by Maharashtra Government in the year 2019.
  • The main objective behind starting this scheme was to tackle the drastic climatic changes happening on the globe and promote bamboo cultivation in Maharashtra.
  • At that time there was no provision in this scheme to provide financial assistance to farmers for the maintenance of bamboo saplings.
  • But in the year 2024, Finance and Deputy CM Sh. Ajit Pawar announced the revise benefits of this scheme while presenting the supplementary budget in the assembly.
  • According to the studies, Bamboo has a lot of temperature controlling and natural climate changes supporting features.
  • So to promote more and more bamboo plantation and cultivation in Maharashtra and to increase the income of farmers, Maharashtra Government enlarge the benefits of Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana.
  • This scheme is also know as "Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Scheme".
  • Forest Department of Maharashtra Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
  • It is to be exptected that more than 10,000 acre of private land would be used to plant bamboos under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana.
  • Subsidy for plantation and maintenance of bamboos will be provided to farmers under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana of Government of Maharashtra.
  • Farmer will have to spend Rs. 350/- per plant for a period of 3 years for the maintenance of bamboo plant.
  • Out of Rs. 350/-, 50% Subsidy i.e. Rs. 175/- per plant will be provided to all eligible farmers under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana.
  • A farmer can plant a maximum of 1200 bamboo plant in 2 hectare of land i.e 600 bamboo plants per hectare.
  • Rs. 175/- subsidy will be provided to farmers in the below mentioned phased manner:-
    • First Year :- Rs. 90/- per plant.
    • Second Year :- Rs. 50/- per plant.
    • Third Year :- Rs. 35/- plant.
  • Farmers can also sell the grown bamboo plants to timber merchants and earn money.
  • It is mandatory to plant bamboo saplings at 5 x 4 m spacing from one plant to another.
  • Eligible farmers will be required to send GeoTagged Photos to Maharashtra Bamboo Development Board after planting.
  • During the first year, the subsidy amount will be distributed by reducing the amount of bamboo plants supplied.
  • To avail subsidy under this scheme percentage of live bamboo plants should be more than 80% in 2nd and 3rd year otherwise no further subsidy will be given.
  • Bamboo Species that are eligible for subsidy under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana are :- Oxytenenthara Stocksii, Tulda, Asper, Nutan, Brandisii, Balcooa and Strictus.

  • Eligible Farmers can apply for subsidy for plantation of bamboos under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana through Online Application Form and through Offline Application Form.
  • The last to apply for subsidy under Atal Samruddhi Yojana of Maharashtra Government is 31-10-2024.

Benefits of the Scheme

  • Farmers will get the following benefits under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana of Maharashtra Government :-
    • Subsidy will be provided to Farmers for the plantation and maintenance of Bamboos.
    • Farmers can Plant a total of 1200 Bamboo Sapling in 2 Hectare of Land. (600 Sapling for 1 Hectare)
    • Farmers will have to spend Rs. 350/- per plant for a period of 3 years.
    • 50% Subsidy i.e Rs. 175/- per plant out of Rs. 350/- per plant will be provided to farmers.

    • Subsidy will only be provided to plant any of the below mentioned bamboo species :-
      • Dendrocalamus Strictus.
      • Bambusa Balcooa.
      • Dendrocalamus Brandisii.
      • Bambusa Nutan.
      • Dendrocalamus Asper.
      • Bambusa Tulda.
      • Oxytenenthara Stocksii.
    • Farmers can also sell the grown bamboo plants and earn money.

Eligibility Conditions

  • Subsidy on planting of Bamboos Saplings will only provided to those farmers who fulfill the following eligibility conditions of Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana :-
    • Only Farmers of Maharashtra are Eligible to Apply.
    • Farmers should have minimum 2 Hectare of Agricultural Land.

Documents Required

  • To apply and avail the benefits under Maharashtra Atal bamboo Samruddhi Yojana following are the important documents needed while you apply :
    • Aadhaar Card.
    • Voter ID.
    • Agriculture Land Sale Deed Copy / ownership agreements.
    • 7/12 For Extract.
    • Incase of Tenant Farmer then Rental Agreement or Lease Agreement.
    • Bank Account Details.
    • Passport Size Photograph.
    • Incase of SHGs, Cooperative Societies, and NGOs , Organization Registration Forms/ License will be needed.

How to Apply

Online Application Process

  • Farmers can apply for Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana through Online Application Form.
  • Online Application Form of Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana is available on Maharashtra Forest Portal.
  • Visit the Portal and Select Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana.
  • Fill the below mentioned details in the Online Application Form of Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana :-
    • Personal Details.
    • Land Details.
    • Bamboo Species Details.
    • Bank Account Details.
    • Upload the required documents.
  • Preview the filled application form carefully and check all the details.
  • Now, Click on Submit Button to submit the Atal Bamboo Samrudhhi Yojana Application Form.
  • Submitted Application Form will be verified by the forest officials.
  • Selected Farmers will then received the yearly subsidy for the maintenance of bamboo saplings under Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana of Maharashtra Government.
  • Online Application Form is live till 31st October 2024.

Offline Application Process

  • The facility to apply for Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana through Offline Application Form is also available for farmers.
  • Offline Application Form of Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana is available free of cost in the District Office of Maharashtra Bamboo Development Board.
  • Fill the details carefully in the application form.
  • Attach all the required documents with the application form.
  • Submit the Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana Application Form along with all the documents in the same District Office of Bamboo Development Board.
  • Concerned officials will verify the submitted application form and documents.
  • Ground verification of the bamboo plantation site will also done by the officials.
  • After all the verification, subsidy amount will directly transferred in the bank account of beneficiary farmer.
  • Eligible Farmers can apply for this scheme on or before 31-10-2024.
