West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme

Introduction

• West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme is the major social welfare scheme of Government of West Bengal.
• It was launched in the year 2020.
• The main objective behind launching Jai Johar Scheme is to provide social security to old age people belongs to Schedule Tribe Category.
• Jai Johar Scheme of West Bengal is basically a pension scheme but it is only for the old age people belonging to Schedule Tribe Category.
• West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme is also called "West Bengal Old Age Pension Scheme for Schedule Tribe People" or "West Bengal Schedule Tribe Pension Scheme" or "West Bengal Jai Johar Pension Scheme".
• Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month will be provided to all eligible ST beneficiaries under Jai Johar Scheme.
• Age of Beneficiary should be 60 years or above and beneficiary should be belongs to Schedule Tribe Category.
• West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme is a sub scheme under Jai Bangla Scheme which is an umbrella scheme for all pension schemes of West Bengal.
• All Eligible Schedule Tribe Category Beneficiaries can avail the benefit of monthly pension under Jai Johar Scheme by filling an Application Form of West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• The below mentioned benefits will be provided to eligible beneficiaries under West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme :-
  • Monthly Old Age Pension of Rs. 1,000/- per Month will be Provided to all Eligible Beneficiary.

Eligibility Criteria

• The following eligibility conditions is set by Government of West Bengal to provide the monthly old age pension benefit to schedule tribe category people under Jai Johar Scheme :-
  • Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of West Bengal.
  • Applicant should be belong to Schedule Tribe Category.
  • The Age of Applicant should be 60 Years or Above.
  • Applicant should not be a recipient of any other Social Security Pension Scheme.

Documents Required

• The below mentioned documents is mandatorily required at the of applying for old age pension under West Bengal Jai Johar Scheme :-
  • Residence Proof/ Domicile of West Bengal.
  • Digital Ration Card.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Voter Identity Card. (For Age Proof)
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• Eligible Beneficiary of Schedule Tribe Category can apply for monthly pension by filling Application Form of Jai Johar Scheme.
• Jai Johar Scheme Application Form is available free of cost at any of the following offices :-
  • Office of the Block Development Officer.
  • Office of the Sub Divisional Officer.
  • Office of the Kolkata Municipal Commissioner.
• Collect the Application Form of Jai Johar Scheme and fill it correctly.
• Attach all the required documents along with the Application Form.
• Submit the Application Form of Jai Johar Scheme along with all the documents in the same office form where it was collected.
• Application Form and Documents will be scrutinised by the department officials.
• After verification, pension amount of Rs. 1,000/- per Month under Jai Johar Scheme will be transferred in the bank account of beneficiary.
