Delhi Spoken English Course Scheme

Introduction

• Delhi Spoken English Course Scheme is flagship program of Delhi Government.
• It was launched on 23rd of July 2022 by the Chief Minister of Delhi, Sh. Arvind Kejriwal .
• Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University is the nodal agency for this program.
• Most of the youth in the country are struggling at work because they cannot speak English fluently.
• This leads to a lack of confidence in them.
• They miss out many possible opportunities due to their lack of ability to speak fluent English.
• Keeping all this in mind and to enhance the youth of Delhi, Delhi Government has started Spoken English Course Program.
• This is only for the resident of Delhi who are between 16 to 35 years of age.
• The main objective of this scheme is :-
  • To improve English Communication and Soft Skills of youth.
  • To inculcate confidence in the youth to speak English fluently
• To take admission in Spoken English Course, it is mandatory for the applicant to have passed minimum class 8th with English as a subject.
• It is a short term course of 3 to 4 months duration.
• In this duration the applicant will learn to speak English fluently through the interactive nature of teaching and through activities and class interactions.
• Upon successful completion of the course, the applicant will be awarded a globally accepted certificate from Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University and Cambridge University Press & Assessment India Private Limited.
• The course will be implemented with the help of world class language delivery partners i.e. :-
  • Macmillan Education India Private Limited.
  • Academy for Computer Training India Private Limited.
• The entire course will be taught in physical mode.

Eligibility Conditions

• Anyone between the age group of 16 to 35 years.
• Must be a resident of NCT of Delhi.
• Must have passed class 8th with English as a subject.

Application Fees

• Rs. 950/- is the application fees which will be paid by the applicant at the time of applying.
• The entire application fees of Rs. 950/- will be refunded on successful completion of the course.
• The application fees will not be refunded if the candidate's attendance in the course is less than 80%.
• If the applicant belongs to Economically Weaker Section (EWS) then no application fee will be payable.

How to Apply

• There is only one way to apply for this scheme through Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University Web Portal.
• The Applicant has to first Register himself on this portal.
• The following details will be filled in the registration form :-
  • First Name.
  • Middle Name.
  • Last Name.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Email.
  • Date of Birth.
  • Password.
  • Confirm Password.
  • Captcha Code.
• Then the applicant has to confirm his mobile number through an OTP.
• And after clicking on register, applicant will be registered successfully.
• After that Login with your Mobile Number and chosen Password.
• Then the following details will be filled by the applicant :-
  • First Name.
  • Middle Name.
  • Last Name.
  • Date of Birth.
  • Email ID.
  • Gender.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Father's Name.
  • Mother's Name.
  • Guardian's Name.
  • Applicant's Occupation.
  • Applicant's Category.
  • Family Annual Income.

• Click on Save and Next.
• Then the Applicant has to fill the educational details mentioned below :-
  • Are you class 8th pass (Yes or No).

  • Board Name.
  • Month & Year of Passing.
  • Type of School.
  • RTE Quota (Yes or No).
  • Last School Fees Paid.
  • Result Type (Percentage or CGPA).
  • Percentage/CGPA.
  • Details of Class 10th.
  • Board Name.
  • Month & Year of Passing.
  • Type of School.
  • RTE Quota (Yes or No).
  • Last School Fees Paid.
  • Result Type (Percentage or CGPA).

• Then click on Save and Next.
• Now the Applicant has to upload his/her Photo and Signature.
• After that the Applicant has to choose the centre of his/her choice for Spoken English Coaching.
• The Applicant will also have to fill 2 additional centre preferences of his/her choice.
• After that the Applicant has to pay the refundable application fees of Rs. 950/-.
• Applicant's application from will be submitted after successful payment of application fee.
• Once the preferred centre allotted, the applicant are good to go for Spoken English Course Classes at his/her chosen centre.

Features of the Scheme

• The entire course will be taught by trained experts.
• The main objective of the entire course is to improve the listening, speaking, reading and writing skill of the applicant.
• This will boost their confidence and develop their English communication skills for meetings and interviews.
• It is a short term course with a duration of 3 to 4 months.
• Classes will be held on weekdays in the evening or on weekends.
• The entire course will be taught in physical mode and home assignments will also be given to the applicant.
• A minimum of 80% attendance is required to successfully complete the course.
• If any applicant fails to maintain 80% attendance then their application fee will be forfeited.
• The application fees will be refunded to the applicant within 4 to 6 weeks after the successful completion of the course.
• The last date for submission of online application for Spoken English Course is 20.08.2022 (11:59 PM).
• The applicant will be informed through Email or SMS regarding the final allotment of the centre along with the date of commencement of the course.
• The hard copy of the application along with valid identity proof will be brought to the center for verification by the application on the first day of the commencement of the course.
• If the applicant leaves the course in midway, then his/her application fee will be forfeited.
