Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme

Introduction

• We all know that the major part of Uttarakhand State is covered by Mountains.
• Through Indian Government's Pradhnamantri Ujjwala Yojana, Gas Cylinders has reached in every house whether in the plain or in the hilly areas.
• People in the plain areas can easily refill their gas cylinders due to good infrastructure and better road connectivity.
• But people in hilly areas have to wait for a long time and faced lots of difficulties to refill their gas cylinder due to poor rood conditions and infrastructure.
• Sometimes they have to travel kilometers to refill their gas cylinder and carrying it on their head or back.
• Keeping these difficulties in mind, Government of Uttarakhand gave approval to start new scheme in the state.
• The name of scheme is "Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme" and will also known by some other names such as "Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Yojana" or "Uttarakhand Eindhan Sakhi Scheme" or "Uttarakhand Eindhan Sakhi Yojana".
• Rural Development Department of Uttarakhand Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• The main objective behind starting Mini Gas Agency Scheme in Uttarakhand is to ensure the availability of gas cylinder in far flung hilly areas and to increase the income of women associated with Women Self Help Group.
• Training to run and operate Gas Agency will be provided to women beneficiary under Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme.
• Mini Gas Agency will be opened in every far flung area of Uttarakhand for better availability of gas cylinders.
• The opened Gas Agencies under Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme will be run only by Women associated with Self Help Groups.
• Training will be provided to every selected women by concerned Gas Agency Company.
• Uttarakhand Government signed a contract with HP Gas Agency for smooth implementation of scheme. Soon other Gas Agency Company will also included in the scheme.
• Women Beneficiary will be called as "Eindhan Sakhi" (ईंधन सखी) after successfully completion of training.
• Beneficiary Women will then open their own mini gas agency after getting Eindhan Sakhi Certificate.
• Concerned Gas Company will ensure that there should be minimum 5 gas cylinders are available every time in the Mini Gas Agency.
• Gas Company will provide a commission of Rs. 20/- to Women Beneficiary on the sale of every gas cylinder.
• Apart from that, Commission will also be paid to women beneficiary on the sale of gas company products like Burner, Gas Stove, Gas Pipe, New Connection, DBS Connection etc.
• Government of Uttarakhand will also pay Rs. 1,000/- to Women Beneficiary for the advertisement of Mini Gas Agency Scheme in their village.
• Uttarakhand Government will also plan to provide Diesel at every Mini Gas Agency in the second phase of scheme.
• Till date, 61 Eindhan Sakhi (ईंधन सखी) successfully gets the training in Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme out of which 40 are from Uttarkashi District, 16 are from Tehri District and 5 are from Haridwar District.
• Mini Gas Agency Scheme of Uttarakhand Government will be implemented in other districts very soon.
• Beneficiary Women associated with Self Help Group can apply to open mini gas agency under Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme through Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme ia available at District Office of Rural Development Department.

Benefits of Scheme

• Women Beneficiary associated with Self Help Groups will get following benefits from Gas Agency Company under Mini Gas Agency Scheme of Government of Uttarakhand :-
  • Commission of Rs. 20/- on the Sale of Every Gas Cylinder.
  • Commission on the Sale of Company's Item like, Gas Stove, Burner, Gas Pipe, New Connection etc.
  • Rs. 1,000/- will be provide for Awareness and Advertisement of Scheme.
  • Eindhan Sakhi (ईंधन सखी) Certificate will also provided.

Eligibility

• Government of Uttarakhand sets the following eligibility conditions for women associated with self help groups in order to apply to run Gas Agency under Mini Gas Agency Scheme of Uttarakhand Government :-
  • Beneficiary Women should be a Resident of Uttarakhand.
  • Beneficiary Women should be a Member of Self Help Groups.
  • Beneficiary Women should have appropriate place to run Gas Agency.

Documents Required

• Beneficiary Women associated with the Self Help Groups will requires the below mentioned documents at the time of applying for Mini Gas Agency License under Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme :-
  • Residence Proof/ Domicile of Uttarakhand.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Women Self Help Group Registration Number.

How to Apply

• Beneficiary Women of Self Help Group can apply to run a Mini Gas Agency under Uttarakhand Government's Mini Gas Agency Scheme through Offline Application Form.
• Application Form of Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme is available free of cost in District Office of Department of Rural Development.
• Collect the Application Form of Mini Gas Agency Scheme and fill it carefully.
• Attach all the required documents with the application form.
• Then Submit the Uttarakhand Mini Gas Agency Scheme Application Form and Documents in the Rural Development Department's District Office.
• Officials from the Department of Rural Development will thoroughly check the received application form and documents.
• List of Selected Women Beneficiary will then forwarded to concerned gas agency for further documentation.
• Government of Uttarakhand has currently signed a contract with HP Gas Agency, soon other gas agency will also join the scheme.
• Gas Agency Company will then provide a training to Women Beneficiary about the operation/ running system of Mini Gas Agency.
• Those Women Beneficiary who completed their training will be called as "Eindhan Sakhi" (ईंधन सखी).
• Concerned Gas Agency will then provide the supply of gas cylinder in Mini Gas Agency of Women.
• Gas Agency will also ensure that a minimum 5 gas cylinders are available all the time in the Mini Gas Agency of beneficiary women.
• Beneficiary Women will get a commission of Rs. 20/- on the sale of each gas cylinder.
• Apart from that Gas Agency Company will also provide commission to women on a sale of company's Burner, Gas Stove, Gas Pipe, New Connection etc.
• Women Beneficiary can apply for the license of Mini Gas Agency under Government of Uttarakhand's Mini Gas Agency Scheme through Application Form which is available in District Office of Rural Development Department.
