Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• With the dawn of every new year, the world is reaching to its new heights, creating new challenges and opportunities.
• Similarly, India is also progressing but still facing some persistent issues such as female feticide since ages.
• To overcome this challenge, the government has introduced various welfare schemes and also educate them about its consequences. However, it still requires improvement.
• Recently, on the occasion of women's day, the Tripura Government announced a new welfare scheme called "Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana".
• Tripura is one of the states in India with a high sex ratio and is expected to be improved further with this scheme, especially among the BPL families.
• Under this scheme, the state government will provide financial assistance (in the form of a bond) to every girl born in BPL families.
• For this, a bond of Rs 50,000/- will be deposited by the government in the name of each girls born into a BPL family.
• When the girls turn 18, the amount deposited under the bond will be matured, amounting Rs 10 lakhs.
• The scheme is to be known by other names; such as "Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Scheme" or "Tripura Balika Samriddhi Scheme".
• Tripura government is committed to the development of the girl child, which is evident from its various recently announced schemes, such as -
  • Tripura CM Sath Scheme.
  • Tripura Mukhyamantri Konya Atmonirbhor Yojana.
• Once the bond is matured, its amount is likely to be credited to the girl's bank account and can be used for her education or other essential needs
• The primary objective of the scheme is to secure the future of girls born into BPL families.
• As of now, the scheme has been just announced and its implementation is yet to be done.
• Once the government implements the scheme, they will release its detailed guidelines.
• As of now, the benefits will be provided to girls born in BPL families but it is expected that it will come with some other criteria too.

Scheme Benefits

• Under the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana, the Tripura government will provide the following benefits to its beneficiaries : -
  • A bond worth Rs 50,000/- will be deposited at the birth of every girl child.
  • The Bond will be issued in the name of a girl born into the BPL Families.
  • Upon turning 18, the bond will be matured, whose worth will be Rs 10 Lakh.

Eligibility Requirements

• The benefits of Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana will be provided to beneficiaries who meet the following eligibility criteria : -
  • Parents must belong to a BPL family.
  • Parents must be a domiciled resident of Tripura.
  • The annual income of the family must not exceed the specified limit.
  • Other criteria will be updated soon.

Required Documents

• To avail the benefits of Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana, beneficiaries must submit the following documents entitled for the scheme. If we saw any changes in the guidelines (which is not released yet) we will update it here : -
  • Birth Certificate of the girl child.
  • Parents Aadhaar Card.
  • Address proof.
  • BPL Card.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC).
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Other as mentioned in the scheme guidelines.

Steps to Apply

• Applicants must apply for the Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana to receive its benefits.
• Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana was recently announced by the BJP Party president, but its implementation has not been done yet.
• As a result, Balika Samriddhi Yojana applications will be invited online or offline is not clear.
  
• Once the government provides updates about the application process, we will update the same here.

• Beneficiaries must submit the application form with all relevant details and documents.
• Authenticity of the submitted application form will be verified by the concerned nodal department.
