Tripura Incentive to Girl Child Scheme

Introduction

• Tripura Incentive to Girl Child Scheme was introduced in 1st June 2009.
• The Scheme is functioning under Directorate Of Social Welfare & Social Education, Govt. of Tripura.
• The Scheme was launched with the idea of reducing Female Infaticide (deliberate killing of newborn children).
• The following benefits are provided benefits under the scheme:-
  • Incentive Of Rs 300 per head per month till the time girl child attains the age of 15 years.
  • Incentive will be paid to the Mother of the girl child in her bank/ post office account.
• The following persons will be eligible under the Tripura Incentive to Girl Child Scheme:-
  • Applicable to girl child born after 01/06/2009.
  • Up to two girl children of a mother will be covered under the scheme.
  • Parents should have less than annual income of 1 lakh.
  • The scheme will be valid until the girl child attain the age of 15 years.
• Eligible Persons Can Avail the benefits of Tripura Incentive to Girl Child Scheme by applying in the following manner:-
  • Through Offline Application Form.

Benefits

Eligibility

Documents Required

• Income Certificate.
• EPIC of the applicant.
• Birth Certificate of girl child issued by:-
  • Registrar of Births and Deaths.
  • AMC.
  • Nagar Panchayat.
  • Gram Panchayat .
  • Village Committee of TTAADC areas.
• Bank/Post office account of mother of the girl child.

How to Apply

• Visit the concerned AMC / Nagar Panchayat / RD Block.
• Fill up the application form available from the office of the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) free of cost..
• The CDPO will verify and sanction the incentive with prior approval of the Director of Social Welfare and Social Education.
