Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
- We often see that the Hospital expenses incurred during medical emergencies can create financial problems for any family, especially those below the poverty line.
- To address this issue, the Telangana government has announced the "Cheyutha Scheme".
- The scheme comes with an aim to provide medical and healthcare facilities to the economically weaker sections of Telangana.
- Additionally, the scheme also offers a monthly financial support to the diverse range of beneficiaries.
- The primary objective of Telangana Cheyutha Scheme is to alleviate the financial burdens arising from the medical emergencies.
- The scheme is also popular by other names, such as "Telangana Cheyutha Yojana" or "Telangana Cheyutha Pathakam" or "Rajiv Aarogyasri Cheyutha Scheme".
- Under this initiative, the state government is providing free medical and healthcare facilities up to Rs 10 lakh to the Economically Backward Section.
- Apart from this, the government also provides a monthly pension of Rs 4,000/- through Telangana Cheyutha Pension Scheme.
- The medical and healthcare coverage of Rs 10 lakh provided under the scheme will be catered through Rajiv Aarogyasri Initiative, a trust formed by the state government to provide quality health care to the poor.
- Beneficiaries can avail of these free corporate medical treatment at the empanelled hospitals.
- The Telangana Cheyutha Scheme was announced during the state assembly election and was part of congress party's election manifesto.
- More than 90 lakh families living below the poverty line will be covered from this scheme
- Under the previous government, the coverage provided under the Aarogyasri scheme was Rs 5 lakh.
- However, the government has doubled the amount from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh per family per annum.
- Also, the government has added 163 new treatments into the existing list of 1672 treatments, bringing the total to 1,835.
- Beneficiaries who meet the scheme eligibility conditions are required to apply for the scheme.
- Cheyutha Scheme applications can be submitted by filling its application form offline.

Eligibility Requirements
- To receive the benefits of the Telangana Cheyutha Scheme, it is mandatory for the family to fulfill its following eligibility criteria : -
- The beneficiary must be a domiciled resident of Telangana.
- Beneficiaries must belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
- Beneficiaries must possess a white ration card.

- Beneficiary must be in a possession of following documents, when applying for the Telangana Cheyutha Scheme : -
- Aadhaar Card.
- Resident Proof.
- White Ration Card.
- Income Certificate.
- Passport Size Photograph.
- BPL Card.
Steps to Apply
- It is mandatory for the applicants to submit Telangana Cheyutha Scheme application to receive its benefits.
- The Application for Telangana Cheyutha Scheme can be submitted through the following methods : -
- Online through Praja Palana Centers.
- Offline through Mandal and Municipal Offices.
Offline Process
- To submit the application offline, beneficiaries first need to collect the Cheyutha Scheme application from Mandal, Gram Panchayat, or Municipal Offices.
- In the obtained form, applicants need to furnish all their details carefully.
- Attach the requested documents and paste the latest passport size photograph.
- Now submit this filled in application form to the Gazetted officer of your respective Municipal Office or Mandal Panchayat.
- After submission, the application form will be verified by the authority.
- Applicants passed the verification test will receive its intimation on their mobile number.
Online Process
- On the other hand, the beneficiary can also submit their Telangana Cheyutha Scheme applications at the nearest Praja Palana Centers.
- Beneficiaries need to request the staff to fill the scheme application form.
- Beneficiary needs to share the personal details.
- Provide the necessary documents as required.
- Once the application form is submitted, applicants will receive its confirmation via SMS on their mobile number.
- For authentication, the submitted application will be verified by the authority.
- Applicants can check the status of their respective application online through the Praja Palana Portal.
