Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• People from economically weaker backgrounds are unable to afford the expensive medical treatment.
• In serious medical conditions, the lack of treatment sometimes leads to death.
• As a result, patients and their respective families went through unbearable pain.
• To address this issue, the Telangana government has launched the Telangana Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme.
• The scheme announced is also known as "Telangana Rajiv Aarogyasri Pathakam" or "Telangana Rajiv Aarogyasri Yojana" or "Rajiv Aarogyasri Health Insurance Scheme".
• The main objective of the scheme is to provide quality health care to the people unable to cater medical expenses.
• This scheme is specifically designed for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) families in Telangana.
• The Department of Health, Medical and Family Welfare of Telangana is the nodal department of Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme.
• The scheme will be implemented in the state as "Ayushman Bharat PMJAY- Rajiv Aarogyasri" under the trust.
• The Ayushman Bharat PMJAY is central government initiative that offers medical coverage of Rs 5,00,000/-.
• Telangana Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme is a community health insurance scheme.
• The scheme also caters the beneficiaries of Telangana Cheyutha Scheme for annual treatment of Rs Ten Lakh.
• Under the scheme treatment up to Rs 10,00,000/- per year will be covered by the government.
• Initially, the Aarogyasri scheme was launched by the previous BRS government, providing yearly medical benefits of Rs 5,00,000/-.
• However, after the state assembly election, the new congress led government increased the scheme benefits and rename it to Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme.
• Now, the eligible beneficiary can avail themselves of medical coverage up to Rs 10 Lakh.
• However, up to Rs 6,50,000/- will be paid by the Aarogyasri Health Care Trust for the treatment of cochlear Implant Surgery with Auditory Verbal Therapy.
• Insurance premium will be paid by the state government for BPL families under the scheme.
• Additionally, the 163 new treatments have been added to the existing list of 1672, taking the tally to 1,835.
• Beneficiaries can avail the treatment services at network hospitals empanelled under the scheme.
• Only BPL families are covered under Telangana Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme.
• Beneficiaries simply need to visit their nearby hospital or health care centre to avail the benefit under the scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• Beneficiaries will receive the following benefits under the Telangana Rajiv Aarogyasri Scheme : -
  • Government provide health insurance for health treatment up to Rs 10,00,000/- per year per family.
  • A total of 1,835 treatments will be covered under the scheme.

Diseases

• Following Diseases are covered under Telangana Aarogyasri Scheme:-

  Below mentioned surgery and Therapy are covered under the scheme : - Heart surgery. Lungs surgery. Liver surgery. Pancreas surgery. Kidney surgery. Neuro Surgery. Pediatric Congenital Malformations, Burns. Post -Burn Contracture Surgeries. Cancer Surgery. Chemo Therapy. Radio Therapy. For children following health treatment will be provided :- Polytrauma and Cochlear Implant Surgery with Auditory Verbal Therapy will be provided to the children whose age is less than 3 year. Cochlear implantation surgery under different condition will be provided to children whose age is between 3 year to 5 year.

Eligibility Requirements

• Beneficiaries must be a Permanent Resident of Telangana.
• Applicant must belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
• Applicant who are the holder of any of the following card are eligible for the scheme:-
  • White Card.
  • Health Card.

Required Documents

• Following document are required for availing the benefit under Telangana Aarogyasri Scheme:-
  • Ration Card.
  • BPL Card.
  • White Card.
  • Applicant Photography.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Email ID.

Steps to Apply

• For availing the benefit of Telangana Aarogyasri Scheme beneficiary no need to fill any application form.
• Applicant can visit the following centers/ hospitals to avail benefit under the scheme:-
  • Primary Health Centre (PHC).
  • Community Health Centre (CHC).
  • Nearby Empanelled Hospital or any Government Hospital.
  • Health Camp.
• For treatment and surgery applicant has to go hospital/center with their white card/health card/Ration card/BPL card.
• Beneficiary can Contact to Aarogymithra available at the hospital for the facility/treatment.
• At the time of treatment registration or application form will be filled by the hospital.
• Health treatment up to Rs 10,00,000/-per year will be given to the beneficiary family under the scheme.
