Introduction

  • Government of Rajasthan implemented lots of welfare schemes in the State.
  • One of the major welfare scheme of Rajasthan Government is Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
  • It was launched on 01-04-2023.
  • The main objective behind launching Free Electricity Scheme in Rajasthan is to empower people financially by providing free of cost electricity to them.
  • Energy Department of Rajasthan Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
  • This scheme is also called "Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Free Electricity Scheme" or "Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Gharelu Vidhyut Anudan Yojana" or "Rajasthan Mukhyamantri Nishulk Bijli Yojana".
  • Under Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme, Government of Rajasthan will provide free of cost electricity to residents to Rajasthan.
  • Free Electricity will only provided to those residents of Rajasthan who consumes less than 100 units of electricity per month.
  • This means consumer will not have to pay a single penny of electricity charge if his/ her monthly electricity consumption is less than 100 units per month.
  • Initially, Government of Rajasthan provides 50 Units of electricity per month free but later it increased to 100 units per months.
  • Only Domestic Households Connections are eligible for Free Electricity under Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme of Rajasthan.
  • Commercial Connection Holder are not eligible to get free of cost 100 unit electricity under Rajasthan Free Electricity Scheme.
  • Those consumers who consumes more than 100 units of electricity per month are not eligible to get subsidy under this scheme.
  • Subsidy of Rs. 3/- per unit will be provided to those people who consumes more than 100 units but less than 150 units.
  • Subsidy of Rs. 2/- per unit will be provided to those people who consumes more than 150 units but less than 300 units.
  • More than 752.58 Crores of subsidy is distributed by the government under Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
  • 1.15 Crore of consumers get the benefit of free electricity under this scheme.
  • There is no need to apply anywhere to avail the benefits of free electricity.
  • But registration in Mehngai Rahat Camp is required.
  • Officials of Department of Energy of Rajasthan Government will generate Zero Electricity Bills for those consumers who consume less than 100 units of electricity per month.
  • The Free Electricity Scheme started by Ashok Gehlot government has been discontinued by the current BJP Government.
  • Consumer who are receiving free electricity will not receive its benefits further.
  • If in future the government commence the scheme we will update the same here.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme Benefits

Eligibility

  • Permanent Resident of Rajasthan.
  • Applicant Should have Domestic Electricity Connection at Home.
  • Applicant Consume less than 100 Units of Electricity per Month.

Documents Required

  • The following documents is required to avail the benefit of Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme :-
    • Jan Aadhar Card.
    • Aadhar Card.
    • Mobile Number.
    • Domestic Electricity Bill.

How to Apply

  • There is no need to apply anywhere to avail the benefit of Zero Electricity Bills under Rajasthan Chief Minister Free Electricity Scheme.
  • But there is a need to register the household in Mehngai Rahat Camp.
  • Free Electricity up to 100 Units per Month will be automatically provided to Residents of Rajasthan after registration in Mehngai Rahat Camp.
  • This means those residents will not have to pay any amount of electricity charge if they consume less than 100 units of electricity per month.
  • If a consumer consumes more than 100 units but less than 150 units of electricity per month, then a subsidy of Rs. 3/- per unit will be provided.
  • If a consumer consumes electricity unit between 150 units to 300 units, then a subsidy of Rs. 2/- per unit will be applicable.
  • Electricity Department will itself generates bill according to the consumption unit of consumer.

As per the news broke out and even on this page mentioned that 100 unit electricity will be provided free or adjusted against the bill without doing anything. However since the scheme launched i am paying double electricity bills from May till today i.e. 6th Sep 2023. Each time my bill is more than 2500₹ earlier when only 50 unit were free was getting less than 1200₹ bill. Can someone look into this???

जानबूझकर हमारा बिल 155 यूनिट किया जा रहा है। मेरा उपभोग कम ही रहता है। गर्मियों में कूलर हमने खरीदा ही नहीं। खाना एक टाइम बनता है इलेक्ट्रॉनिक आइटम पर। बनता है तो बनाते हैं नहीं तो 10 दिन बाजार से मंगवाते हैं। दो ट्यूबलाइट जलती है रात में 10 बजे तक । दो बल्ब जलते हैं रात में। एक रूपये की राहत नहीं हमें। आम लोगों के लिए योजना नहीं है तो प्रचार भी नहीं करना चाहिए।
