Karnataka Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane

Introduction

• Karnataka Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane is the major welfare scheme of Karnataka Government for the Farmers of State.
• It was started in the year 2011.
• Karnataka Forest Department is the nodal department of this scheme.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to encourage the farmers to plant trees and increase the forest cover.
• All the farmers of Karnataka State are eligible to take part in Karnataka Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane.
• This scheme is also known by some other names such as "Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojana" or "Krushi Aranya Protsaha Scheme".
• This scheme plays an income enhancing role for the farmers as it provides financial assistance just to plant and nurture the tree saddling for only 3 years.
• Under Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane, the following financial assistance will be paid to farmers to plant and nourish a tree seedling for 3 years :-
  • Rs. 35/- per Surviving Seedling will be Paid in First Year.
  • Rs. 40/- per Surviving Seedling will be Paid in Second Year.
  • Rs. 50/- per Surviving Seedling will be Paid in Third Year.
• Farmer can also make money from the final product of the tree like Fruits, Seeds, Fodder, Firewood, Pole, Timber etc.
• The tree seedlings will be purchased by the farmers themselves which is provided to farmers at a subsidised rates from nursery.
• The subsidised rates for seedlings are as follows :-
  • For 5×8 and 6×9 Size Poly Bag :- Rs. 1/- per Seedling.
  • For 8×12 Size Poly Bag :- Rs. 3/- per Seedling.
  • For 10×16 and 14×20 Size Poly Bag :- Rs. 5/- per Seedling.
• Farmer can choose any size based on the seedling size and species.
• Farmer have to submit a nominal registration fees of Rs. 10/- at the time of submitting the application of Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane.
• It is mandatory to submit the application before the start of rainy season. (Before the End of May).
• A Farmer can grow 400 forest trees per hectare on his land.
• The following tree species can be planted by farmer in his land :-
  • Hebbevu.
  • Sandal.
  • Teak.
  • Silver Oak.
• Eligible and willing full farmers can apply for Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane by visiting their nearest Range Forest Office through Application Form.

Benefits

• Farmers of Karnataka will receive the following benefits under Krushi Aranya Prosaha Yojane :-
  • Financial Assistance will be provided to plant tree seedlings.
  • Rs. 35/- per Surviving Seedling will be Paid in First Year.
  • Rs. 40/- per Surviving Seedling will be Paid in Second Year.
  • Rs. 50/- per Surviving Seedling will be Paid in Third Year.

Eligibility

• Only those Farmers are eligible to plant tree seedlings who fulfils the below mentioned eligibility condition of Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane :-
  • Farmers of Karnataka.
  • Farmers who Owns a Land.

Document Required

• Documents that are required at the time of applying for Karnataka Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane are as follows :-
  • Residence Proof.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable).
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • Details of Tree Seedlings.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Land Details/ Pahani of Land.

Ineligible Tree Seedlings

• The following tree species are not eligible for plantation and payment under Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane :-

  Eucalyptus. Acacia. Silver Oak. Casuarina. Cassie Siamea. Gliricidia. Sesbania. Erythrina. Rubber. Subabul. Coconut. Arecanut. Orange. Citrus Species. Grafted Mango.

How to Apply

• To apply for Karnataka Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane, farmer has to visit his nearest forest range office.
• Collect an Application Form of Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane from that Office free of cost.
• Fill it properly and attached the required documents with it.
• Submit it to the same forest range office along with the registration fees of Rs. 10/-.
• Forest Officials will scrutinised the Krushi Aranya Protsaha Yojane Application Form and Documents thoroughly.
• Then the tree seedlings will be distributed by forest officials among the selected farmers.
• Every year forest officials will visit the land of farmer where the seedlings is planted for inspection.
