Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Andhra Pradesh government has announced to implement "Andhra Pradesh Nirudyoga Bruthi Scheme" for the unemployment Vedic scholars.
• Under the scheme, the government will provide a monthly unemployed allowance to the eligible beneficiaries.
• Such allowance will be provided to the beneficiaries until they secure a job.
• According to the Nirudyoga Bruthi Scheme, the government will provide a monthly allowance of Rs. 3,000/- to each beneficiary.
• The objective of the scheme is to alleviate the financial burden among such youths who are seeking employment after completing their education.
• However, this scheme was not new; the TDP government implemented it in their last tenure across the state, where beneficiaries receive Rs. 1,000/- monthly.
• In the recently concluded assembly election, Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu and his allies announced various schemes in their manifesto.
• Post winning the election, the government starts implementing these scheme accordingly.
• The TDP government also promises to generate 20 lakh new jobs for these unemployed youths.
• The announced Nirudyoga Bruthi Scheme is also known as "Andhra Pradesh Unemployment Allowance Scheme" or "Andhra Pradesh Nirudyoga Bruthi Pathakam".
• Applicants who have completed their Vedic scholars education and are employed are eligible to apply.
• These Vedic Scholars get paid Sambhana from temples like Srikalahasti, Annavaram, Simhachalam, and Kanipakam.
• There are around 600 vedic scholars in 7 temples across Andhra Pradesh namely Simhachalam, Annavaram, Dwarakathirumala, Kanakadurga, Srikalahasti, Kanipakam and Srisailam.
