E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows

Introduction

• The Government of Tamil Nadu has initiated many schemes for the welfare of women in Tamil Nadu.
• One of these schemes is the 'E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows'.
• The scheme was launched by the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to provide financial assistance to help poor widows get their daughters married.
• Under this scheme financial assistance will be provided to the widowed mothers for their daughter's marriage.
• There are two following categories defined for beneficiaries under E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows:-
  • Non-Graduate Applicant.
  • Graduate or Diploma Holder Applicant.
• Under this scheme, Non-Graduate will receive financial assistance of Rs. 25,000/-.
• While Graduate will receive financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/-.
• Additionally, both Graduate and Non-Graduate will receive a 22-carat gold coin weighing 8 grams for Thirumangalyam.
• Beneficiaries can avail the benefits of the E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme by applying through the Common Service Center (CSC).

Benefits of the Scheme

• Under E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows following benefits will be provided to the eligible beneficary:-

  Beneficary	Benefits
  For Non Graduate	Financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- Rs. 15,000/- through Electronic Clearing Service. Rs. 10,000/- as National Savings Certificate. 8 Grams 22 Carat Gold Coin.
  For Graduate and Diploma Holder	Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- Rs. 30,000/- through Electronic Clearing Service. Rs. 20,000/- as National Savings Certificate. 8 Grams 22 Carat Gold Coin.

Eligibility Criteria

• Those who fulfilled the below mentioned eligibility conditions are eligible to avail the benefit under E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows:-
  • Should be a Resident of Tamil Nadu.
  • Annual Income should be Rs. 72,000/-.
  • No Minimum Educational Qualification Required.
  • Age of Bride should be 18 Years.
  • Age of Bride Groom should be above 21 years.

• The following documents are required at the time of applying for financial assistance under E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows:-
  • Age Proof of Bride and Groom.
  • Widow Certificate.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Community Certificate.
  • Marriage Invitation.
  • Family Card.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Death Certificate of Husband.
  • Bride Educational Certificate.
  • Residence proof of Tamil Nadu.

How to Apply

• To avail the benefit of Tamil Nadu E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows, beneficiary can apply through nearest Common Service Center.
• The agent fill the form and upload the required document on behalf of the beneficiary.
• After that the Application Form and Documents of the beneficiary will be scrutinized by the District Social Welfare Officer.
• Beneficiary will be informed through SMS or Email in case of accept and reject of the application.
• Once accepted, the amount of financial assistance will be transferred into the bank account of beneficiary.

Features of the Scheme

• Beneficiary can apply for the E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme For Daughters Of Poor Widows Within 40 days before the Marriage.
• Both the bride and groom should be at least 18 and 21 years old, respectively.
• There are two categories for widowed mothers to avail benefits under this scheme:-
  • Non-graduates bride are eligible for assistance of Rs. 25,000/-
  • Graduates and diploma holders bride are eligible for assistance of Rs. 50,000/-
• Financial assistance will be provided directly to the widowed mother.
• In case of the mother's death assistance can be given to the bride.
• If the widowed mother has two daughters, only one daughter is eligible to avail benefits under the scheme.
