Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• After taking charge, the Rajasthan BJP government started fulfilling its promise made during the election.
• Among these, the government has launched the "Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme".
• The scheme strives to provide subsidised LPG Gas Cylinders to the Economically Weaker Section of Society.
• The scheme was implemented across the state from September 1, 2024, enabling its beneficiaries to receive its benefits.
• The scheme will replace the previous government initiative "Indira Gandhi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme", which provided gas cylinders at Rs 500/-.
• The Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme is popular by other names such as "Rajasthan Free Gas Cylinder Scheme" or "Rajasthan Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana" or "Rajasthan 450 Gas Cylinder Scheme" or "Rajasthan Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana".
• The main thrust of Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana is to offer subsidies in LPG Gas Cylinders, providing economic relief to these households.
• Post its implementation, the eligible beneficiaries will receive domestic gas cylinders at Rs 450/-.
• In a month, beneficiaries can avail of only one cylinder at subsidised rate i.e. Rs 450/-.
• If a beneficiary purchases more than one cylinder in a month, the subsidy will be provided to only one cylinder.
• Rajasthan Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme benefits are available for following families : -
  • Families Registered under the PM Ujjwala Yojana.
  • BPL families in Rajasthan.
  • Rajasthan Families registered under the National Food Security Act.
• The authority will prepare a list based on the number of cylinders purchased between the first and the last date of each month.
• If a family buys more than one cylinder in a month, they will receive a subsidy for only one.
• At the time of delivery, beneficiaries must pay the full amount to the gas agency.
• After this, the government will then credit the subsidy amount to the beneficiary bank account in the first week of the subsequent month of gas delivery.
• To receive the benefits of Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, beneficiaries are not required to apply.
• However, it is mandatory to complete the seeding process to receive a subsidy.
• In the seeding process, the beneficiary needs to complete the E-KYC process by visiting the nearest E-Mitra Center or Fair Price Shop.
• Once the E-KYC process is completed the beneficiary will receive the subsidy amount directly to their Janaadhaar linked bank account.
• To oversee the implementation of the scheme, the government has appointed the Food and Civil Supplies Department as its nodal authority.
• For any information related to the scheme, beneficiaries can contact their respective LPG Gas provider or visit the nodal department office.

Scheme Benefits

• Under the Rajasthan Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Scheme, beneficiaries are eligible for the following benefits : -
  • Subsidy on the purchase of domestic LPG Gas Cylinder.
  • After subsidy, a gas cylinder will be provided at Rs 450/-.
  • Subsidy will be provided for one cylinder per month.
  • The subsidy amount will be credited to beneficiary Janaadhaar linked bank account.

Eligibility Requirements

• Beneficiaries with the following eligibility criteria are entitled to receive gas cylinder at Rs 450/- under the Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana : -
  • The applicant must be a domiciled resident of Rajasthan.
  • Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
  • BPL families.
  • Families covered under the National Food Security Act.

Required Documents

• To receive the benefits of Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana, beneficiary must produce the following documents : -
  • Janaadhar Card.
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • BPL Ration Card.
  • Ujjwala Gas Connection passbook.

Steps to Apply

• Beneficiaries are not required to apply for the Rajasthan Rasoi Gas Cylinder Subsidy Yojana.
• Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and BPL Families will automatically receive the scheme benefits.
• However, they need to complete the seeding process by completing the E-KYC.
• Beneficiaries who completed the E-KYC process will receive LPG Gas Cylinder at subsidised rate i.e. Rs 450/-.
• At the time of delivery, beneficiary must pay the full amount of the gas cylinder to the gas agency.
• At the end of every month, the nodal authority will transfer the subsidy difference directly to the beneficiary Janaadhar linked bank account.

E-KYC Process

• To complete the E-KYC process, beneficiaries need to visit the nearest E-Mitra Center or Fair Price Shop.
• Request the staff to seed your documents for the scheme.
• For seeding, handover the documents like Ration Card, LPG Gas Connection ID, and Janaadhaar Card.
• With the help of the details, the e-KYC process will be completed.
