Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview

• Central Government launched one of the most prominent scheme named "NAVYA Scheme" on 24-06-2025.
• It was launched jointly by Shri Jayant Chaudhary and Smt. Savitri Thakur in the Sonbhadra District of Uttar Pradesh.
• The full form of NAVYA is "Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls".
• The main objective of government behind starting this scheme is to encourage young adolescent girls to take skill training at such a young age so that they can create employment opportunities for themselves.
• Ministry of Women and Child Development and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will jointly implement Navya Scheme.
• Free of cost vocational skill training will be provided to all eligible girl student who passed their class 10th examination and currently is in the age group of 16 to 18 years.
• At present NAVYA Scheme is launched as pilot project in 9 states which are :- Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Gujarat, Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka.
• Girl Beneficiary can choose skill training in Graphic Designing, Professional Makeup Artist, Drone Assembly Expert, CCTV Installation Expert, Smartphone Technician to open the doors for self employment for themselves.
• This short term skill training will be provided to girl students at Pradhan Mantri Kausal Vikas Yojana Kendra.
• Selected Young Girl will also receive 7 hour supplementary training module in which the areas covered are mentioned below :-
  • Interpersonal Skills - Hygiene, Self Presentation and Conflict Management.
  • Communication Skills - Active Listening and Effective Communication.
  • Workplace Safety - Knowledge of the POSH Act and Laws.
  • Financial Literacy - Earning, Budgeting and Basic Financial Concepts.
• Visit the nearest PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana Kendra and apply for skill training under NAVYA Scheme.

Scheme Benefits

• Government will provided Short Term Skill Training to Young Girls.
• Eligible Girls will receive skill training in :-
  • Graphic Designing
  • Drone Assembling
  • Smartphone Repair
  • Professional Makeup Artist
  • CCTV Installation Expert
• 7 Hour Personality Development Training Module will also provided.

Eligibility Requirement

• Young Adolescent Girls are Eligible.
• The Age of Girl should be 16 years to 18 years.
• Passing Class 10th is Required.

Required Documents

• Girl Aadhaar Card.
• Marksheet of Class 10th.

Steps to Apply

• NAVYA Scheme will be implemented through Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Kendra.
• Beneficiary Girl Student will have to visit their nearest PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana Kendra and apply for NAVYA Scheme.
• Officials present at the centre will enroll girl beneficiary in the training program of her choice under Navya Scheme.
• Girl Beneficiary will undergo the vocational skill training program in PMKVY Kendra.
• A certificate will also provided to girl after successfully completing the training program which will help her to secure decent employment opportunity.
