NAMO Drone Didi Scheme

Introduction

• NAMO Drone Didi Scheme was launched by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi through Video Conferencing on 30th of November 2023.
• The main objective behind starting this scheme is to empower women members of Self Help Groups by providing them a mode and platform to earn more.
• This scheme is also known by some other names in whole of country like "NAMO Drone Didi Yojana" or "Pradhanmantri Drone Didi Scheme" or "Prime Minister Drone Didi Scheme".
• Namo Drone Didi Scheme is basically starts for the upliftment of Women Self Help Groups in which a platform will be provided to increase the income of Women SHGs.
• Government of India under NAMO Drone Didi Scheme will provide drone on subsidised price to Women Self Help Groups.
• These Drones can be used by the members of Women Self Help Groups for rental purpose.
• Drone Rental Services will be provided to farmers in which the task of spraying of pesticides or fertilizers in agriculture field will be done with the help of drones.
• This will help the Women SHGs to earn more for their members and also farmers cost of operation will be reduced and it improves the efficiency of work.
• Subsidy of 80% of Drone Cost or a maximum of Rs. 8,00,000/- will be provided to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) to purchase drones for commercial purpose under NAMO Drone Didi Scheme.
• Loan Facility from National Agriculture India Financing Facility (AIF) will also available for Women SHGs to cover the remaining cost of drone.
• The interest rate payable on loan from AIF is 3% per year.
• Training to women members of SHGs to fly drone will also provided before releasing the subsidy amount.
• It is mandatory to complete the drone fly training program in order to avail the subsidy on the purchase of drone under Namo Drone Didi Scheme.
• It is to be estimated that, Beneficiaries of Namo Drone Didi Scheme can earn additional income of Rs. 1,00,000/- per year with the help of drones which is provided to them under Namo Drone Didi Scheme.
• Only Women Self Help Groups are eligible to claim the subsidy to purchase drone under NAMO Drone Didi Scheme.
• Beneficiary Women can contact their nearest Gram Panchayat Office or Pradhan Mantri Kisam Samriddhi Kendra to know the application procedure or further information about NAMO Drone Didi Scheme.

Benefits of Scheme

• Indian Government will provide the following benefits to Women Self Groups (SHGs) under NAMO Drone Scheme :-
  • Subsidy will be provided to Women SHGs on the Purchase of Drone.
  • Subsidy of 80% of Drone Cost or a Maximum of Rs. 8 Lakh will be Provided.
  • Loan Facility from AIF will also available for remaining cost of drone.
  • Nominal Interest Rate of 3% will be payable on the loan.
  • Training to fly drone will also provided.
  • Women SHGs can use this drone for rental purpose to provide services to farmers.
  • Women SHGs can earn Additional of Rs. 1 Lakh per year with the help of drone.

Eligibility Criteria

• Subsidy and Loan on the purchase of drone under Namo Drone Didi Scheme will be provide to only those beneficiaries who fulfill the following eligibility conditions :-
  • Only Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) are eligible to apply.
  • Drone will only be use for rental purpose for Agricultural Activity.

• The following documents are required at the time of availing the benefit of subsidy and loan on the purchase of drones under Government of India/s NAMO Drone Didi Scheme :-
  • Women Self Help Group (SHGs) Registration Number.
  • Women Members Aadhar Card.
  • Women SHGs Bank Account Details.
  • Mobile Number.

How to Apply

• District Committee formed by Government will select and shortlist the eligible Women Self Help Groups under NAMO Drone Didi Scheme.
• Only Registered Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) are eligible to avail the benefit of Namo Drone Didi Scheme.
• District Committee will select the Women Self Help Groups according to their financial status and on the basis of their performance for society.
• List of Selected Women Self Help Groups will be made by the District Committee and Head of the SHGs will be informed about the selection.
• Training related to how to fly drone and other technicalities will be provided to all Women Members of Selected SHGs under Namo Drone Didi Scheme.
• Subsidy and Loan on the purchase of Drone in NAMO Drone Didi Scheme will only provided after the completion of training.
• Women Self Help Groups can provide the drone rental services to farmers of their area for agriculture purpose and earn additional livelihood for their family.
• In order to get further assistance regarding NAMO Drone Didi Scheme, Beneficiary Women can contact the nearest Pradhanmantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendra or Gram Panchayat Office.
