Introduction

• Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme (KASP) is the major healthcare scheme of Kerala Government.
• It was started in the year 2019.
• State Health Agency of Kerala Government is the implementing agency of this scheme.
• It aims to provide a health cover to over 64 Lakhs poor and vulnerable people in the State.
• Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme is the combination of the following schemes :-
  • Rashtriya Swastha Bima Yojana.
  • Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme.
  • Senior Citizen Health Insurance Scheme.
  • Karunya Benevolent Fund.
  • Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
• By adding all the component of these schemes, the Kerala government started the Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme.
• Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme is fully financed by Kerala Government.
• It provided a health cover of Rs. 5 Lakh per family per year.
• Beneficiaries can avail the benefit in any public and empanelled private hospitals.
• There is no restriction on age, gender or family size.
• Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme covers all the pre existing disease.
• People can avail the benefit by visiting directly to the hospital.

• Free Cashless Treatment up to Rs. 5,00,000/- Per Annum.

• Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme covers the following components of treatment :-

  • Non Intensive and Intensive Care Services.
  • Medicine and Medical Consumables.
  • Diagnostic and Laboratory Investigations.
  • Post Hospitalization Care up to 15 Days.
  • Accommodation Benefits.
  • Complications Arising During Treatment.
  • Medical Implantation Services.

Eligibility

• Residents of Kerala.
• Ration Card/ BPL Card Holder.
• Annual Income should not be more than Rs. 3,00,000/-.

Documents Required

• Aadhar Card.
• Ration Card.
• Income Certificate.

How to Apply

• The beneficiary does not need to apply anywhere for the Karuna Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme.
• Eligible person can get his treatment done by going to any government or empaneled private hospital with his Aadhaar Card or Ration Card.
• This facility is completely cashless, for this the beneficiary does not need to pay any money up to Rs. 5 Lakh.

• Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhathi Scheme is a direct assurance health cover scheme.
• It covers the expenses of 3 Days of Pre Hospitalization and 15 Days of Post Hospitalization.
• It covers 1573 procedures including all the cost of treatment.
• Every Beneficiary will get Karunya Arogya Suraksha Padhati Scheme Card.
• More than 195 Public Hospitals and and 542 Private Hospital providing treatment under this scheme.
