Rajasthan Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana

Introduction

• The Rajasthan government has started a new scheme known as 'Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana'.
• Scheme was implemented in the state on April 1, 2020, which receive some amendment on April 2022.
• It is one of the important schemes that starts for the upliftment of girl students.
• As per the name, the government will provide a free scooter to all meritorious students who secure the required marks.
• The objective of the scheme is to encourage girls students to excel in their board examination and pursue for their higher studies.
• The scheme aims to provide free scooters to all meritorious students who passed in the class 12th.
• However, the benefits of the Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana are exclusively for girls students.
• Earlier, only pterol scooters are provided under the scheme, now students can opt either petrol or electric scooters as per their choice.
• The scheme is named after the late Kali Bai Bheel, who dedicated her life for the education of Dungarpur students.
• Along with the free scooter, the government will also provide additional benefits such as petrol, helmet, insurance, and transportation expenses.
• The government aims to distribute 10,500 scooters to the eligible students every year, with 640 scooters are reserved for the De-notified, Nomadic and Semi nomadic tribes.
• Moreover, 6 scooters are also reserved for the specially abled students of liberated, nomadic and semi nomadic communities.
• The announced scheme is also known by other names, which are 'Rajasthan Free Scooty Yojana', or 'Rajasthan Free Scooty Scheme', and 'Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Scooty Yojana'.
• To implement the scheme across the state, the government has appointed Higher Technical and medical education as the nodal authority.
• Students with annual family income less than 2.5 lakh are eligible for Rajasthan Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana.
• Additionally, students must enroll for higher education in any college based in Rajasthan.
• There are some other criteria outlined under the Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana, which students need to fulfil.

Benefits of Scheme

• Government will provide following benefits to eligible students under their Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana : -

  A free scooty will be provided to all meritorious girls. Students can opt either petrol or electric scooter. Following additional benefits will be provided to each beneficiary : - All transportation expenses until the scooter is delivered to the student. One year general insurance. Five year third party insurance. Two liters petrol during the delivery of scooter (only once) One ISI Marked Helmet.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must read the eligibility criteria for Rajasthan Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana before submitting their applications. Students who fail to fulfil any of the below mentioned criteria will not be considered eligible.
  • Must be a domiciled resident of Rajasthan.
  • Only girls applicants are eligible.
  • Annual income of the family should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakhs.
  • Applicants must have passed their class 12 exam from State or Private schools affiliated with the RBSE.
  • Applicants should pursue higher education.
  • Students admitted in private schools under the Right To Education (RTE) Act.
  • Applicants must have secured the minimum percentage marks as per the board : -
    • Minimum 65% for RBSE board students (50% for de-notified tribe, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe)
    • Minimum 75% for CBSE board students. (70% for de-notified tribe, nomadic and semi-nomadic tribe)
  • Students pursuing a regular graduation degree from any college based in Rajasthan in the following courses : -
    • B.A.BEd
    • B.Sc.BEd
    • B.Com.BEd
    • BE/B.Tech
    • B.Arch
    • MBBS
    • IIT
    • BBA
    • BBM
    • BCA
    • BDS
    • BHMS
    • BAMS
    • LAW etc.
  • Students from any of the categories are eligible for the scheme : -
    • General.
    • Scheduled Tribe (ST).
    • Scheduled Caste (SC).
    • Minorities.
    • De-notified Tribes.
    • Nomadic Tribes.
    • Semi Nomadic Tribes.
    • Disabled.

Ineligibility Criteria

• Students cannot claim free scooty through the court.
• Students with a gap of one year or more from between passing their intermediate examination and getting admission into a graduation program are not eligible.
• Students received scooty under any scheme run by the state government before the announcement of this scheme are not eligible.
• Students who received scooty on the basis of 10th class result are also not eligible for the scheme, However, such students will receive Rs 40,000/- if they become eligible for this scheme.

Documents Required

• During the submission of Rajasthan Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana applications, applicants must keep their following documents ready : -

  Aadhaar Card. Address proof. Bank Passbook. Birth Certificate. Intermediate Marksheet or Certificate. Fee Receipt. Admission Slip. Family Income Certificate. Jan Aadhaar/Bhamashah Card. Certificate issued from the current institution of the student. Other self attested documents issued by the competent authority if applicable : - Disabled Certificate Caste Certificate. TSP certificate. EWS Certificate. Minority Certificate. Special Backward Class Certificate. BPL Card.

Scooty distribution ratio

• Under Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana, the government will distribute free scooter in the following ratio. The percentage set for the girls student of CBSE board can be increased or decreased.

  Board Affiliation Ratio
  Government Schools Affiliated with RBSE	50 percent.
  State Private Schools affiliated with RBSE	25 percent.
  Government or private schools affiliated with CBSE	25 percent.

How to Apply

• Eligible students can apply for the Rajasthan Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana through its online application.
• Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Scooty Yojana application form is available at Rajasthan SSO Portal.
• To start the application process, applicants need to register at the SSO portal.
• For registration, it is mandatory to have a Jan Aadhar Card.
• Enter your Jan Aadhar number and complete the authentication process.
• Login with the 'Username' and 'Password' received on the mobile number.
• Select the scholarship followed by the student tab.
• Applicants need to update their profile details.
• Upon submitting, the entered details will be updated.
• Select the new application form and a list of schemes students are eligible appears.
• From the list, select the 'Kali Bai Bheel Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana'.
• Next, the applicants need to enter the following details : -
  • Academic Session.
  • School name.
  • College Name.
  • Year.
  • Admission date.
  • Intermediate Roll Number.
  • 12th percentage.
  • Marks secured in class 12th.
• Thereafter, applicants need to upload the required documents.
• Post following the process, submit the application form.
• Nodal department will verify the details and documents of the received applications.
• After the completion of scrutiny, the department will prepare a provisional list of the students.
• Any correction in the provisional list can be changed and post this final list will be issued.

Scheme important points

• In case, eligible students are not available from the CBSE board category, students from Rajasthan board will be selected.
• If girls from private institutions are unable to secure the required marks, then the benefit can be extended to girls from the government schools.
• If any student from the general category is disabled, she will be accommodated under the disabled category.
• Students cannot claim their scooty from the court.
• Students cannot sell their scooter till the completion of five years from the date of registration.
• Ensure there is no gap between the passing year and getting admission to a degree programme, else you will not be selected.
• Students who receive scooty from other schemes are not eligible.
• However, students who received scooty based on their performance in class 10th and are also eligible for this year's scheme will get Rs 40,000/- instead of scooter.
• Disabled students can request for a motorized tricycle.
