Introduction

• Himachal Pradesh Government announced lots of welfare schemes in their 2023-2024 budget.
• Every welfare scheme is meant to target the specific group of beneficiaries.
• So with a objective to boost the animal husbandry sector and to increase the income of cattle rearers, Government of Himachal Pradesh announced to start Himachal Pradesh Him Ganga Scheme in whole of state.
• This scheme is also called "Himachal Pradesh Him Ganga Yojana".
• Animal Husbandry Department of Himachal Pradesh Government is the nodal department of this scheme.
• Under Himachal Pradesh Him Ganga Scheme, Government of Himachal Pradesh will directly purchase the milk from cattle rearers.
• This step of government will help the cattle rearers to get fair price of their cattle milk.
• Government of Himachal Pradesh fixed the purchase rate of milk.
• The rate of Cow Milk under Him Ganga Scheme is Rs. 80/- per Litre.
• And the rate of Buffalo Milk under Him Ganga Scheme is Rs. 100/- per Litre.

Eligibility

• Applicant should be a Resident of Himachal Pradesh.
• Applicant should be a Cattle Rearer.

How to Apply

• Him Ganga Scheme is just announced by the Himachal Pradesh Government in their 2023-2024 budget.
• According to the released information, Government of Himachal Pradesh will establish a Cooperative Society.
• This Cooperative Society will make necessary arrangements in order to purchase the milk from cattle rearers.
• A Milk Production Unit will also set up to make usable produce from the purchased milk.
• So, cattle rearers will have to wait little more to sell their milk at best price under Him Ganga Yojana.
