Introduction

Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana is a financial assistance scheme of Government of Himachal Pradesh.
It is operated and administered by Department of Women and Child Development of Himachal Pradesh Government.
Its main objective is to provide monetary assistance for the marriage of the girl.
This scheme has been implemented to ensure that the girls from poor families and daughters of widows/destitute women, and orphan girls can easily manage the expenses incurred at the time of marriage.
The amount of assistance under this scheme is payable according to the category of the beneficiary.
An amount of Rs. 40,000/- will be provided on the marriage of Destitute Girls/Women.
Rs. 51,000/- will be provided for the marriage of Inmates of Nari Seva Sadan or Nari Niketan.
The above grant will be drawn and disbursed by District Program Officer of the District.

Female Residents of Himachal Pradesh.
Bride and Groom should not below the age of 18 years and 21 years respectively.
Destitute Girls/Women :-
- Girl whose father is not alive.
- Girl whose father is incapacitated or bedridden.
- Orphan Girls
- Neglected Girl and Women.
- Inmates of Nari Niketan.
- Former Inmates of Balika Ashram.
- Deserted/Divorced Women.
- Girls/Women rescued from immoral traffic.
- Women/Girl released after imprisonment.
- Daughter of divorced/destitute women.
Income from all sources of the above categories should not exceeded to Rs. 35,000/- per year.

Fill the Application form
Attach the required documents :-
- Domicile of Himachal Pradesh.
- Proof of Annual Family Income.
- BPL Certificate.
- Proof of Date of Marriage.
- Age Proof of Bride and Groom.
Submit it to the office of District Program Officer.
Application will be scrutinized.
If found eligible, assistance will be transferred to the beneficiaries bank account.

The financial assistance is only available for the marriage of girl/women in a family.
Beneficiaries can submit their applications before marriage.
Applicant can also apply after the marriage within a time period of 6 months.
No application will be accepted after 6 months of the marriage.
The amount of assistance is also given to the girl if she is marrying the boy from outside the State of Himachal Pradesh.
The application will be disposed of and the amount will be disbursed within 30 days.
The District Program Officer is competent to sanction a marriage grant.
If the amount of grant is not utilized by the parents within a period of 3 months , it shall be refunded back to District Program Officer.
Physical Applications will be submitted to the following officer :-
- District Program Officer.
- Panchayat Local or Urban Body.
- Child Development Project Officer.
