Scheme Introduction: A Brief Overview
- The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has introduced a unique initiative for students called the "Digital India Internship Scheme."

Scheme Benefits
- Chosen candidates will be offered a short-term internship lasting two months.

- Upon successfully finishing the internship program, participants will receive an official completion certificate.
Eligibility Requirement
- Only individuals holding Indian citizenship are permitted to apply.
- Candidates must have achieved a minimum of 60% marks in their most recent qualifying exam.
Applicants should currently be enrolled in any of the following degree programs :-
- B.E. – in streams such as Computer Science & Engineering, IT, Electronics, or Electrical
- B.Tech – in relevant technical disciplines
- M.E. / M.Tech – postgraduate programs in engineering fields
- M.Sc – with specialization in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or Electrical
- MCA – Master of Computer Applications
- DOEACC 'B' Level course
- LLB – for law students
- Bachelor's degree in Economics or Statistics
- Students who are in the final semester of their course are not eligible to participate.
- Applicants must have at least one academic year left to complete in their ongoing program.
- The internship will be conducted in New Delhi, and applicants must be ready to attend it.

Steps to Apply
- Students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online for the MeitY Digital India Internship through a dedicated web portal launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
- To begin, visit the official website of the Digital India Internship Scheme.
- Click on the "Register" button and fill out the registration form with the following details:

- Enter the Captcha code and submit
- An OTP will be sent to the registered email for account verification.
- After successful verification, log in to the portal using your email ID and password.
- Once logged in, the application form will be displayed, divided into three major sections.

- Select any two preferred project areas offered under the scheme
- Provide names and designations of two academic or professional referees
- After filling out all details, upload the required documents such as academic certificates, a photograph, and signature.
- Click the "Submit" button to complete the application process.
- After submission, the system will generate a unique reference number and an acknowledgment slip.
- Applicants can track the status of their application using their registered email and reference number on the portal.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive their internship offer letters via email from the ministry.
- It is essential to accept the offer to receive a formal confirmation letter for the internship.

- Important Note: The final date to apply for the 2025 internship session is 24th April 2025.
Selection Process
- Once the online application is submitted, officials at the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will review and evaluate the entries.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on a Personal or Skype-based interview round.
- Applicants appearing in the interview will not receive any travel or daily allowance (TA/DA) reimbursement.
- Following the interview process, the names of selected interns will be made public through the official website.
- The ministry will send Internship Offer Letters via email to those who are chosen.
- Candidates must formally accept the offer to proceed further in the selection process.
- Upon confirmation, an Internship Joining Letter will be issued to the selected individuals by the ministry.
