Introduction

• Finance Minister Sh. Kanubhai Desai presents the budget of Gujarat Government for the year 2024-2025 in the assembly on 02-02-2024.
• He announced to start 3 new welfare schemes in Gujarat from this very next financial year.
• Gujarat Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana is one of the scheme which is going to implement very soon.
• Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana is going to be the major welfare scheme for the students of Gujarat.
• Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhna Yojana will going to be known by some other major names in the Gujarat after its implementation which are :-

• The main objective behind starting Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana in Gujarat is to encourage and motivate students to pursue science stream after passing class 10th.
• Education Department of Government of Gujarati is the implementing department of this scheme.
• Enrolling in science stream in class 11th will open up ample of opportunities for students in future to secure jobs in science and technology related sectors.
• Gujarat Government estimated that after implementing Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana in Gujarat, the enrolment of students in science stream will surely increase from 2 lakh to 5 lakh per year.
• Scholarship of Rs. 25,000/- for 2 years will be provided to those students under Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana who opt science stream in Class 11th after passing Class 10th Examination.
• Rs. 10,000/- will be provided to eligible students while studying in Class 11th.
• Similarly, Rs. 15,000/- will be provided to eligible students while studying in Class 12th.
• Scholarship Amount Distribution Criteria of Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana are as follows :-
  • Rs. 1,000/- per Month for 10 months in Class 11th. (Total Rs. 10,000/-)
  • Rs. 1,000/- per Month for 10 Months in Class 12th. (Total Rs. 10,000/-)
  • Remaining Rs. 5,000/- will be provided to Students after they successfully passed Class 12th Board Examination.
• Only those students are eligible to apply for scholarship under Namo Saraswati Yojana who opt science stream at the time of admission in Class 11th.
• Gujarat Government fix the budget of Rs. 250/- Crore for the year 2024-2025 for the implementation of Gujarat Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana.
• Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana Guidelines is released by Government of Gujarat on 12th of March 2024.
• Official Portal/ Website of Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana will also launched very soon for the enrolment of eligible students.

Benefits of Scheme

• Scholarship that are provided to higher secondary science stream students in their Class 11th and Class 12th under Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana of Gujarat Government are as follows :-

  Class	Scholarship Amount (Per Year)
  11th	Rs. 10,000/-
  12th	Rs. 15,000/-
  Total	Rs. 25,000/- (From 11th to 12th)

Eligibility Criteria

• Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana benefits will be provided to only those students who fulfil the following eligibility conditions which is set by Gujarat Government :-
  • Beneficiary should be regular student of Class 11th or Class 12th.
  • Beneficiary Student should have secure 50% marks in Class 10th.
  • Beneficiary Student should have Science Stream as a Subject.
  • Student should be belong to Low and Middle Income Households.

• The documents that are required at the time of applying for financial assistance/ scholarship under Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana of Gujarat Government are as follows :-
  • Residence Proof/ Domicile of Gujarat.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Caste Certificate. (If Applicable)
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Parent's Aadhar Card.
  • Education Related Documents.

• Gujarat Government recently announced Namo Saraswati Yojana in the budget of 2024-2025.
