Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Scheme

Introduction

• Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Scheme is the major welfare scheme of Assam Government.
• It was started in the year 2017.
• The main objective behind launching this scheme is to empower the youth of states to involve in employment generation activities.
• Initially the nodal department of this scheme is Department of Industries & Commerce.
• But from the year 2020, the nodal department of this scheme is Department of Finance, Assam Government.
• This scheme will help the youth of state to built their own small or micro businesses.
• Under Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Scheme, Government of Assam will provide financial assistance to set up small or micro businesses.
• Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- will be provided to each individual to start their income generation activity.
• Group of Individuals can also apply under Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Scheme.
• Every member of group are eligible to get Rs. 50,000/- each.
• Maximum 20 members of a group are eligible to apply.
• Eligible youth or a group of youth can apply for financial assistance for below mentioned income generation activity :-
  • Manufacturing.
  • Processing.
  • Service Sector.
  • Trading.
  • Rural Transport Service like Auto Ricksha or E Rickshaw.
  • Tourism.
  • Shops, Repairing Centres, Handicraft, Cottage Industries.
• The following income generation activities are not eligible for financial assistance under this scheme :-
  • Manufacturing of Intoxicant Items.
  • Shops of Beedi, Pan Masala, Cigerette etc.
  • Liquor Shops.
  • Plastic Bag below 40 Microns.
• Eligible beneficiaries can apply for financial assistance under Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Scheme through Application Form.

Eligibility

• Residents of Assam.
• Age of Applicant should be between 18 years to 40 years.
• Should Passed Class 10th Examination.
• Applicant should be a part of Self Help Group or Joint Liability Group.

Benefits

• Financial Assistance of Rs. 50,000/- as Seed Money to each individual.
• Group of 5 Members will get Rs. 2,50,000/-.
• Same as Group of 10 Members will get 5,00,000/-.
• Maximum Group of 20 People are eligible to apply.

• 10th Marksheet or Certificate.
• Aadhar Card.
• PAN Card.
• Income Certificate.
• Caste Certificate.
• Business Related Documents. (For Existing Business).
• Project Report. (For New Business).
• Bank Account Details.

How to Apply

• Eligible Youth can apply for Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Scheme through Application Form.
• Collect Application Form free of cost from departments office.
• Fill all the details correctly and attach all the required documents.
• Submit the Application Form and Documents in the same department department office.
• Application Form and Documents will be subject to scrutiny.
• Department officials scrutinize the application form and documents thoroughly.
• Once verified, applicant will be informed through SMS and the financial assistance will be transferred in the bank account of applicant.
