Introduction

• Election Commission of India announced the Assembly Election Result of Telangana on 3rd of December 2023.
• Congress Party manages to win the election with a clear majority.
• In Karnataka, Congress Party had also announced to start Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme before election.
• And after winning Karnataka Election, Congress Party implemented the Karnataka Gruha Jyothi Scheme in the State.
• By Stepping in on the same foot, Congress Party again announced the pre poll promise of providing Free of Cost Electricity in Telangana under Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• Now Congress Party wins the Telangana Assembly Election, So it's time to fulfil the promise the again.
• Congress Party promises in Gruha Jyothi Scheme that every household in Telangana will get Free of Cost Electricity.
• Those Households of Telangana whose Monthly Electricity Consumption is less than 200 Units are the beneficiaries under this scheme.
• This means that there is no need to pay a single penny under Gruha Jyothi Scheme if the electricity consumption of a household is less than 200 Units per month.
• Those households of Telangana are not eligible to avail the benefit of free of cost electricity if there monthly electricity consumption is more than 200 Units.
• Telangana Gruha Jyothi Scheme is going to be the first of its kind Free Electricity Scheme of Telangana State.
• Only Domestic Connection User are eligible to avail the benefit of free of cost electricity under Telanagan Gruha Jyothi Scheme.
• No Commericial Connection User are eligible to get free of cost monthly electricity.
• Free of Cost Electricity up to 200 Units under Telangana Gruha Jyothi Scheme will be provided to all eligible people of Telangana very soon.

• Fill the Application Form and avail the benefit of free of cost electricity up to 200 unit per month under Gruha Jyothi Scheme of Telangana Government.

Benefits of Scheme

• Congress Party Government of Telangana will provide the following benefits to residents of Telangana under Gruha Jyothi Scheme :-
  • Free of Cost Electricity per Month will be Provided to Every Eligible Household.
  • 200 Units per Month of Free Electricity per Domestic Connection will be Provided.
  • No Need to Pay any Electricity Charges if Monthly Electricity Consumption is less than 200 Units.

Eligibility

• Government of Telangana will provide Free of Cost Electricity to only those households who fulfills the following Eligibility Conditions of Gruha Jyothi Scheme :-
  • Only Residents of Telangana are Eligible to Apply.
  • The Monthly Electricity Consumption of Household should be less than 200 Units.
  • Those Households are not Eligible for Free Electricity if there Electricity Consumption of a Month is more than 200 Units.
  • Free Electricity up to 200 Units will be provided only to Domestic Connection Users.

Documents Required

• The following documents is to be required at the time of applying/ registering to avai the benefit of Free of Cost Electricity in Telangana under Gruha Jyothi Scheme of Telangana Government :-
  • Residence Proof of Telangana.
  • Ration Card.
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Electricity Bill/ Connection Number.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Email ID. (Optional)

How to Apply

• Residents of Telangana can apply for free of cost electricity up to 200 units per month as promised under Gruha Jyothi Scheme through Application Form.
• Application Form of Telangana Gruha Jyothi Scheme is available free of cost at any of the following government offices :-
  • Municipal Corporation Office.
  • Gram Panchayat Office.
  • Gram Sabha Office.
• Collect Telangana Gruha Jyothi Scheme Application Form and fill it properly.
• Attach all the required documents with the application form.
• Submit the Application Form of Gruha Jyothi Scheme of Telangana Government along with all the documents in the same office from where the form was collected.
• Received Application Form will be forwarded to electricity department after preliminary verification.
• Department of Electricity then issue subsidised electricity bill to those people who consume less than 200 units of electricity in a month.
• Eligible Domestic Electricity User of Telangana can apply for free of cost electricity under Telangana Gruha Jyothi Scheme from 28-12-2023 to 06-01-2024.
