Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme

Introduction

• Driver Empowerment Programme is the self employment generation programme started by Telangana Government.
• The main objective behind launching Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme is to support youth of Telangana to engage in self employment generation activity.
• This programme is also well known as "Telangana Own Your Car Scheme" or "Telangana Drive Your Own Car Scheme".
• Telangana Government will provide subsidy on the purchase of car which is going to be used by the beneficiary for Taxi purpose.
• Driver Empowerment Programme will be implemented in Telangana with the help of SBI, Maruti Motors and Uber Cab Service.
• Beneficiary has to integrate the purchased commercial car in Uber Cab Service Provider for Taxi Services to earn livelihood.
• Government of Telangana will provide 60% Subsidy or Maximum of Rs. 5,00,000/- on the Purchase of Commercial Taxi Car.
• Beneficiary can choose any of the below mentioned cars for taxi purpose under Driver Empowerment Programme of Telangana Government :-
  • Etios Liva. (Hatchback)
  • Etios. (Sedan)
  • Maruti Dzire Tour S.
  • Tata Bolt.
  • Tata Zest.
  • Hyundai I10.
  • Hyundai Xcent.
  • Honda Amaze.
  • Mahindra Verito Vibe. (Hatchback)
  • Mahindra Verito. (Sedan)
• Beneficiary also have to contribute an amount of Rs. 50,000/- on his/ her own.
• The remaining amount will be provided to beneficiary as a bank loan.
• Only Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe/ Backward Class and Minority Community People in the age group of 21 years to 40 years are eligible to get subsidy on commercial car purchased under Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme.
• It is mandatory for all selected beneficiaries to go through the Driving Training at Maruti Driving School.
• Subsidy amount will be directly released to bank by the concerned corporations.
• Bank then released the subsidy amount with loan amount to Maruti Suzuki for car purchase.
• Beneficiary under Driver Empowerment Programme will be selected by the District Level Selection committee which comprises below mentioned members :-
  • District Collector.
  • DMWO.
  • Deputy Transport Officer.
  • LDM of Bank.
  • Uber.
• Eligible Beneficiaries can apply for subsidy on car purchase under Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme through by filling Online Application Form.

Benefits of Scheme

• Government of Telangana will provide the following benefits to eligible beneficiaries under Driver Empowerment Programme :-
  • Subsidy will be Provided on the Purchase of Commercial Car.
  • Subsidy of 60% on Total Cost of Car OR Maximum of Rs. 5,00,000/-. (Whichever is Less)
  • Applicant Contribution will be Rs. 50,000/-.
  • Remaining Car Cost will be Provided as Bank Loan.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant should be a Permanent Resident of Telangana.
• The Age of Applicant should be between 21 Years to 40 Years.
• Applicant should have Passed minimum Class 8th.
• Applicant should have Valid LMV Driving License.
• The Annual Family Income of Applicant should be :-
  • Rs. 1,50,000/- in Rural Areas.
  • Rs. 2,00,000/- in Urban Areas.
• Applicant should be belong to any of the below mentioned caste/ category :-
  • Schedule Caste.
  • Schedule Tribe.
  • Backward Class.
  • Minority.

Documents Required

• The below mentioned documents is needed at the time of applying for subsidy on the purchase of car under Driver Empowerment Programme of Telangana Government :-
  • Domicile or Residence Proof Telangana.
  • Aadhar Number.
  • Meeseva Caste Certificate.
  • Meeseva Income Certificate.
  • Education Related Document.
  • Driving License.
  • Passport Size Photograph.
  • PAN Card. (Not Mandatory)

How to Apply

• Eligible Applicant can apply for subsidy on Car Purchase under Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme by filling Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme will be available at Telangana State Online Beneficiary Management & Monitoring System Portal.
• Go to the Portal and Click on Apply for Driver Empowerment Programme.
• Applicant has to fill the below mentioned details in Telangana Driver Empowerment Programme Online Application Form in the following steps :-
  • Applicant Personal Details.
  • Applicant Contact Details.
  • Applicant Bank Account Details.
  • Choose the Car to be Purchased.
  • Upload the Required Documents.
• Now Click on Submit Button to Submit the Application Form.
• District Level Selection Committee will verify the received Application Forms and Documents and select the candidates.
• Selected Candidates under Driver Empowerment Programme will then go through the mandatory car driving training at Maruti Driving School.
• After Car Training, Concerned Corporation then released the subsidy amount to Bank.
• Then the Bank will transfer the subsidy amount and bank loan amount to M/s Maruti Motors for Purchase of Car.
• Applicant can check their Name in the Beneficiary List of Driver Empowerment Programme Here.
