Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme

Introduction

• Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme is a falgship scheme of Telangana Government.
• It was launched by Chief Minister Sh. Kalvakunta Chandrashekar Rao on 02-10-2014.
• The main objective behind starting Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme is to provide financial assistance for marriage to those poor families who are not able to borne the expenses of marriage on their own.
• The Financial Assistance under this scheme was Rs. 51,000/- at the time when it was launched.
• But in the year 2017, Telangana Government revised this amount and it was increased to Rs. 75,116/-.
• And again in the 2018, Government of Telangana amended the financial assistance provided under Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme.
• Now the present financial assistance under Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme of Telangana Government is Rs. 1,00,116/-.
• Girl Brides belonging to Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes, Backward Classes and Economically Backward Class are only eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance for marriage under this scheme.
• There is also an income limit under this scheme in which the annual family income of a girl belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe should not be more than Rs. 2,00,000/-.
• Whereas, the annual income limit for Backward Classes and Economically Backward Classes is Rs. 2,00,000/- in urban areas and Rs. 1,50,000/- in rural areas.
• Beneficiary Bride can apply for financial assistance for her marriage under Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme by filling Online Application Form.

Amount of Assistance

• Telangana Government will provide the below mentioned financial assistance for marriage under Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme :-
  • Financial assistance of Rs. 1,00,116/-. (One Lakh One Hundred Sixteen Rupees)

Eligibility Criteria

• Bride should be a resident of Telangana State.
• The Age of Bride should be above 18 Years.
• Bride should be belong to any one of the below mentioned community :-
  • Schedule Caste.
  • Schedule Tribe.
  • Backward Class.
  • Economically Backward Class.
• The Annual Income Limit of Bride Family should be :-

  Caste	Income Limit
  SC	Less Than Rs. 2,00,000/- per Year.
  ST	Less than Rs. 2,00,000/- per Year.
  BC/ EBC	Urban :- Rs. 2,00,000/-. Rural :- Rs. 1,50,000/-.

How to Apply

• Eligible Brides can apply for financial assistance for their marriage under Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme through Online Application Form.
• Online Application Form of Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme is available on ePASS Portal of Telangana Government.
• Click on New Registration
• Now Fill the following details in Registration Form of Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme :-

• Fill the Captcha and click on submit button to submit the application form.
• Application Form of Telangana Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme will then forward to concerned officials for verification.
• After verification, the cheque will be given in the name of the bride's mother by welfare officer for encashment.

Features of the Scheme

• Tehsildar will allot the received applications to the Village Revenue Officer for verification.
• It is mandatory for the Village Revenue Officer to conduct field inquiry.
• The Village Revenue Officer will check the eligibility of the beneficiary with specific reference to the following :-
  • Date of Birth Certificate.
  • Location/Address.
  • Parental Income/Working or not Working.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Eligible Income Criteria.
  • Bank Account Number with IFSC Code.
  • Aadhaar Card Details.
  • Status of the beneficiary if already married earlier. This needs to be acquainted from the local residents/neighbours in the area.
• The Village Revenue Officer will forward the application to the concerned Tehsildar by uploading his comments after field inquiry.
• Then Tehsildar will upload his remark and approve the Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme Application with digital sign and biometric.
• The Application of Kalyana Lakshmi Pathakam Scheme will be jointly sign by the MLA concerned.
• After signing, the signed copy will be uploaded on the online system for clearance of cheques.
• The cheque for financial assistance for marriage will be drawn only in the name of the mother of the beneficiary.
