West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme

Introduction

• Rupashree Prakalpa is the flagship scheme of the Government of West Bengal.
• It was launched on 1st of April 2018.
• Department of Women & Child Development and Social Welfare is the nodal department of this scheme.
• The main objective behind starting this scheme is to provide financial support for the marriage of poor girls.
• This scheme is also known by some other names in West Bengal such as "West Bengal Financial Assistance for Marriage" or "West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa Yojana".
• A One Time Financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- for the marriage will be provided by the Government of West Bengal under Rupashree Prakalpa.
• The Age of Bride and Bride Groom should be 18 Years or More and 21 Years or More respectively.
• Financial Assistance under Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme will be only be provided for the first marriage of a girl.
• If the annual income of girls family is more than Rs. 1,50,000/- per year then she is not eligible to avail the benefit of financial assistance for marriage under West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme.
• The girl should be unmarried as on the date of submission of the application and the marriage should be the first marriage of the girl.
• Girl Beneneficiary can apply for marriage assistance through Offline Application Form of West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa.
• Offline Application Form of Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme is available in the Office of Block Development Officer. (For Rural Area), Sub-Divisional Officer's Office (For Municipal Area) and Commissioner's Office. (For Corporation Area)

Benefits of Scheme

• The below mentioned financial assistance will be provided to all eligible girl beneficiary under Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme of West Bengal Government :-
  • One Time Financial Assistance of Rs. 25,000/- for the Marriage.

Eligibility

• The Girl should be a resident of West Bengal i.e. :-
  • Born in West Bengal OR,
  • Be a Resident of West Bengal for the last 5 years OR,
  • Her parents should be a permanent residents of West Bengal.
• Girl's Age should be 18 Years or Above.
• The Age of the Groom should be 21 Years or Above.
• The marriage of the Girl should be her first marriage.
• The Annual Family Income should not be more than Rs.1,50,000/- per year.

  • Self Declaration.
  • Marriage Invitation Card.
  • Notice for Registration of Marriage.
• Proof of Groom's Age (Any One Document) :-
  • Birth Certificate.

  • Aadhar Card.
  • Madhyamik Admit Card.
  • School Leaving Certificate.
• Coloured Passport Size Photo of Girl and Groom.

How to Apply

• The only way to apply for financial assistance under Rupashree Prakalpa scheme is through the Application Form.
• Applicants can collect the Application Form of West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa from the below mentioned offices :-
  • Office of Block Development Officer. (For Rural Area).
  • Sub-Divisional Officer's Office. (For Municipal Area).
  • Commissioner's Office. (For Corporation Area).
• After collecting the Rupashree Prakalapa Application Form, the below mentioned details will be filled by the Applicant :-
  • Name of Applicant.
  • Date of Birth.
  • Proposed Date of Marriage.
  • Mother's Name.
  • Father's Name.
  • Present and Permanent Address.
  • Mobile Number.
  • Bank Account Details.
  • Education Level.
  • Caste.
  • Religion.
  • Groom Details.
  • Declaration of Unmarried, Proposed Marriage is First Marriage, Family Income not exceeding Rs. 1.50 Lakh, and the Age of the Applicant is more than 18 years, to be filled.
• Along with the Rupashree Prakalpa Application Form, the below mentioned documents shall be compulsorily attached :-
  • Proof of Girl's Age.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Domicile of West Bengal.
  • Bank Passbook.
  • Proof of Proposed Marriage
  • Proof of Groom's Age.
  • Coloured Passport Size Photo of Girl and Groom.
• The properly filled Application Form attached with the required documents shall be submitted to the offices mentioned below :-
  • Office of Block Development Officer. (For Rural Area).
  • Sub-Divisional Officer's Office. (For Municipal Area).
  • Commissioner's Office. (For Corporation Area).
• West Bengal Rupashree Prakalpa Scheme Application Form and Documents will be thoroughly scrutinized by the competent authority.
• If the Application is accepted, the amount of financial assistance will be directly transferred to the Applicant's Bank Account.

Features of the Scheme

• To avail the benefits, the application must be submitted not less than 30 days and not more than 60 days before the date of marriage.
• The Application Form is absolutely free and will be available throughout the year at all Block, Sub Divisional and Corporation Offices.
• Fund Transfer to the Girl's account is mandatory 5 days prior to the Date of Marriage.
• For any grievance related to the scheme, the Block, Sub Divisional or Corporation Office can be contacted.
• Applicant can also check the status of his/her Application Online with his/her Application ID.
