West Bengal Sikshashree Scheme

Introduction

• West Bengal Sikshashree Scheme was launched in 2014 by Government of West Bengal.
• The scheme was launched to promote school education and reduce school dropouts in the state of West Bengal.
• Financial assistance will be provided to SC/ST students of class V-VIII under this scheme.

  Class - V	Rs.800 per annum
  Class - VI	Rs.800 per annum
  Class - VII	Rs.800 per annum
  Class - VIII	Rs.800 per annum

• To avail the benefit of the scheme annual family income of the student should be less than 2.5 lakhs.
• Scholarship amount will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary.
• Applicant can apply for scheme this through OASIS portal.

Eligibility

• Applicant should belong to SC/ST category.
• Annual Family income of the student should not exceed 2.5 lakhs.
• Students of class V-VIII are eligible for the scheme.
• Applicant should be regular full time student reading in a Government School/Government aided School and Govt. recognized schools in West Bengal.
• Only Day Scholar belonging to West Bengal can apply for this scheme.

• Eligible students shall be provided financial assistance under this scheme.

• Cast Certificate.
• Address Proof.
• Income Certificate.
• Passport size Photograph.
• Bank account Details.
• Educational Documents.

How to Apply

• To apply for West Bengal Sikshashree Scheme applicant need to file application online.
• Visit "OASIS" online portal.
• Click on "Student Registration" Tab
• Select your concerned district.
• Now fill up the application form and submit all the required documents.
• Applicant need to download one copy of filled in application along with acknowledgement slip.
• Now applicant need to physically submit the application along with necessary documents to respective authorities.
  • BDO - For Block areas.
  • PO-cum-DWO/DWO - For Municipal areas.
• Now the respective authorities will scrutinize the application, verify the certificates, finalize eligibility including amount of scholarship.
• After successful verification applicant can avail the benefit of the scheme.

Features

• The Scholarship will be awarded to student once per class / academic secession.
• If a student has to repeat a class, then he/she would get scholarship for that class for a second year.
• Student should not get any other scholarship or stipend in any form.
• Student must have good conduct and attendance in school.
• Scholarship amount will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiary.
