    • Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti Kalyan Scheme was launched by Government of Punjab in 2011 to balance the sex ratio in the state.
    • The Scheme is a great initiative in preventing Female Feticide and to promote better education to girls.
    • The Scheme is providing financial assistance to the eligible families time to time so that they are not burdened with the birth of girl child.
    • Girls born after 1.1.2011 in the state of Punjab can avail the benefit of the scheme.
    • Family of less than annual income of less than 30,000 are eligible for Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti Kalyan Scheme.
    • More than 26000 beneficiaries are covered under Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti Kalyan Scheme.

    Eligibility

    • Parents of the girl should be permanent Resident of Punjab.
    • Girls should be born after 1.1.2011.
    • Abundant Girls found after 1.1.2011 and are residing in Orphanage and Children Homes in the Punjab State.
    • Annual Income of the family should be less than Rs. 30,000.
    • Family should be covered under "Atta Dal Scheme".

    Benefits

    • Financial assistance of Rs.61,000 to the Guardian of Girl Child in different stages up to the age of 18 years.

    Documents Required

    • Address Proof of Guardian.
    • Adhaar Card of Guardian.
    • Birth Certificate of Girl Child.
    • Income Proof.
    • Blue Card.
    • Bank account Details.

    How to Apply

    • To apply for Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti Kalyan Scheme applicant should contact to their nearest District Program Officer (DPO).
    • Application Form will be provided by the Concerned DPO.
    • Fill up the aplication form and submit all the required documents.
    • Verification of the applicant will be done by the concerned authority.
    • After verification eligible applicant can avail the benefit of the Scheme.

    Features

    • Amount of more than 53.75 Cr Rupees has been transfered to the eligible beneficiaries under Bebe Nanki Laadli Beti Kalyan Scheme.
    • To continue to avail the benefit of the scheme till the prescribed time it is mandatory for the girl child to get minimum education till class XII.
    • The number girls born before 1.1.2011 will not be benefited under this scheme.
    • Under this scheme, an amount of Rs. 20,000 will be deposited by Government with L.I.C per girl and L.I.C will further disbursed Rs. 61,000 to the guardian of the child.
