Introduction
- How often do we heard the adage that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind?
- A nutritious diet is crucial for the development of Healthy body and mind.
- A well nourished child is better able to focus on their study and sports, which is why a nutritious diet is important for children nowadays.
- All parents strive hard to provide these nutritional values to their children but...
- due to financial difficulties some of them are not able to provide this nutritious value.
- Children are not only the future of their family but also of their state and country.
- Considering these issues, the Uttarakhand government has started a new scheme called as "Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana"
- Under this scheme, the Uttarakhand government has decided to provide basic nutritious support to the children of their state and make a malnutrition free state.
- As per the scheme, children will be provided with eggs and bananas twice a week to meet their essential nutritional needs.
- Only such children's are eligible for the 'Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana' who are in the age group of 3 to 6 years.
- However, this scheme is restricted to children enrolled in Anganwadi Centers.
- This means, in order to avail the benefits of 'Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana,' parents must register their children at an anganwadi centre.
- These Anganwadi centers are run by the state government.
- To get the benefits of the scheme, it is important for registered children to be present at the center.
- Under the scheme, Banana Chips will be provided on Monday and Tuesday, and eggs will be provided on Wednesday and Saturday.
- For children's who do not eat eggs, bananas will be provided instead.
- But in case the Bananas are unavailable, any seasonal fruit costs less than Rs 5/- will be provided.
- A Self Help Group (SHG) or a committee form particularly for this scheme will ensure the availability of the provided items.
- Additionally, the quality of the items will be ensured by these SHG and committees.
- For the successful implementation of the scheme, the government has allocated a budget in their 2024-25 budget of 28.47 Cr.
Benefits of Scheme
- Under Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Abhiyan Yojana, the following benefits will be provided to the beneficiaries: -
- Two days in a week an egg and banana chips will be provided.
- Bananas will be provided to those who do not eat eggs.
- In case of unavailability of bananas, other seasonal fruit that cost around less than Rs 5/- will be given to the children.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only beneficiaries who meet the following condition are eligible for the recently announced Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana: -
- Children must be a permanent resident of the state.
- Children must be between 3 to 6 years old to get the benefits of the scheme.
Documents Required
- The following documents are required to avail the benefit of the Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Yojana: -
- Aadhaar Card.
- Birth Certificate.
- Guardian Aadhar Card.
- Ration Card.
- Address Proof.
- Income Proof (if required).
- Mobile Number.
- Children Photograph (or family group photograph).
- Caste Certificate.
How to apply
- To avail benefit of Uttarakhand Mukhyamantri Bal Poshan Abhiyan Yojana, the beneficiary should be registered in the Anganwadi.
- To register, the beneficiary need to visit the nearby Anganwadi center.
- There, they need to collect the registration form from Asha Worker.
- Now fill up the applicant details carefully.
- Affix all the required documents along with recent photograph.
- Once the registration is completed, the benefits of the scheme will be granted by the Anganwadi center.
